OK two questions for the group. How do I do a fast the right way? Im thinking of doing one tomorrow (not eating till noon)and what kind of fat bombs does every one make ? ideas?
Yesterday I logged EVERYTHING and came in at 28-29 net. the only illegal thing I ate was a small corn tortilla. So today Im trying to be even more prepared. Made a huge breakfast of scrambled eggs with asparagus and mushroom and then made some turkey roll ups with Havarti and avocado in them. That's my problem, I want to be munching all the time so Im hoping the roll ups keep me out of the kitchen at work . I loaded them with a spring mix and some brown mustard . Goal for today .. work on my salad before my veggies go bad. Need to have a salad with lunch and dinner today and tomorrow. One thing also I was reminded of yesterday.. to eat when Im hungry, just eat the right things. I ate till I was full and then by 7 I wasnt hungry, stopped eating and didnt eat till today...

It depends on how long you plan on fasting. If it's a 16:8, just skip breakfast. Coffee is fine, but no cream in it. Or tea. Favorite fat bombs: I have a couple of recipes in my cookbook here.

I posted a Fat Bomb Base Recipe today. It hasn't been approved yet by FS but it is in my cookbook. You are welcome to take a look. Simple recipe. Just equal parts of three main ingredients and then flavors added. They have .88 carbs and 104 cal. Enjoy.

Red, I have a different take on IF. Ms Kes says no cream, but I use it (Dr Fung says it's OK and it works for me). So, I make myself a kit in the morning: three mugs of tea (or coffee) with heavy cream 2 tbs/each plus a quart of True Citrus flavored water. I drink one for breakfast and pack two plus the water for the day; drink the second min-morning and the third mid-afternoon. That's about 600 calories before dinner and I'm never hungry. When I get home I have a feeding window for my main meal. And I can keep calories for the day pretty low: 1000 - 1200 ish. This has been a winning IF 20:4 or 22:2 schedule for me (that I've been off while sick, but getting back to). The sixteen oz of warm liquid with the pure fat is filling! You could make it bulletproof, but I just use heavy cream; it's easier. Sometimes I ice it.

For fat bombs, I prefer just eating dark chocolate and pecans or macadamias; simple and delicious. My favorite chocolate is Trader Joe's Chocolate Lover's Bar. Amazing at 87% cocoa.

For my 24 hour fasts I just go 24 hours without eating food. Coffee tea and water. That's a water fast. R u still going to the gym and stuff? I always eat every two - three hours when grinding it. I couldn't make fat bombs I'd eat them all in a sitting!! Good luck red.

I have done IF for 7months.....week days I do 16:8....never have lunch just the bullet coffees....heavy cream, tsp of butter, tsp of coconut oil....that tides me till lunch, (stevia if desired)....I Don't eat after 6 on fridays and restart on monday after lunch. The weekends we don't eat we still have bullet coffee 4 at most. Lots of water. Everymorning we make a sole...which is Himalayan salt mixed with spring water. Add 2 tbsp of that to a glass of water and squeeze half a lemon. These sole as they call it curb the appetite and clean out bad sodiums and metals in the body. I swear by this I was 267 lbs at my biggest 2 yrs ago and now I am 176.....This has helped my diabetic Dad my ADHD teenager and my in active Aunt at 70 yrs old........No diabeties anymore....blood pressure stable. We eat 20% carbs, 20% protien the rest is goood Fat

Thanks for sharing Sheri - good work on your weight loss; impressive! Is there a website to read about the sole. I can't quite picture the first salt mix with spring water; what's the proportion? It's a lot like the Saltstick in citrus water that I've been drinking.

I do 16:8 and sometimes longer. I eat dinner by 6-7 then I don't eat until noon the next day. I drink a lot if water during the morning. Thus just works for me naturally unless I gave to work at 6 am. Then I need fuel to get going so I eat dinner by 4 pm the day before and that day. Just do what works for you. I can't do the 24 hours no food. I get headaches and cry a lot. I have hypoglycemia issues.

....LOL....I get the impression that I am the only one that has never fasted, not voluntarily anyway ;) and I have never made a fatbomb but I make my own raw chocolate now. That is pretty satiesfying.

I'm doing 16:8 like Msbuggirl. I eat my normal 1200 calories from10-6 and drink lots of water, I haven't made any fat bombs.

For a year I did IF. I drank a coffee with 1 tbs coconut oil, a little stevia, a little torani sugar free syrup early morning. This kept me not hungry til afternoon. Sometimes I would have a second cup around noon if I felt like it. I ate low carb supper. My calories were around 1200 a day. This is how I lost most of my weight, average 2 lbs a week. The fat kept me from feeling hungry and as I am a "night volume" eater, this worked for me perfectly. I was told the oil was ok during IF. I was told to be careful with artificial sweetener but did not have a problem with them. Not as "clean" as some want to be, but I simply am not willing to give up everything....

Fasting is unhealthy and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

Martin, if you read carefully, you can see that fasting is a tool that has brought many of us vastly improved health and well-being. It is incorporated into most religions and cultures throughout human history. As with any way of eating, one has to be mindful in how it is used. But inherently unhealthy? No.

Every culture in other than North America FAST.....research shows when fasting it takes away the store glycogen in the body while you are cleansing.
