Kppgreen's Journal, 13 May 2016

Whoo Hoo! Down again. :) Knuckles suggested I look at the weekly average to get a picture of the trend. When I looked (didn't really take an average this time) I noticed that I've been in the 150s the past five days. That is awesome.

I then looked back to see my progress over the past several months. May 13, 2015 I weighed in at 187.8. It's funny how my self image hasn't changed much but my body has transformed dramatically over this past year. I looked back at my highest weight on March 25, 2015, starting at 220 lb and down to 158. I'm proud of the loss. It's been a long time since I've been able to say that I weigh in my 150's. It's not where I want to ultimately be; I'm still a working progress. But it's good to look back and see how far I've come.

Hubby and I were talking last night about the changes we've made in the past five years. I didn't think I would've ever stopped drinking Dr Pepper, but now I can't tell you the last time I've had one (and I don't miss it). I would've never have thought that rice or pasta would not be in my regular diet, but now they make me feel bloated and I don't entertain the idea of eating them. I've worked my taste buds into 87% stone ground chocolate when white chocolate used to be my favorite.

I didn't make these changes all at once. My body didn't change all at once either. This is a process of learning something new. I've re-trained the way I eat and what I enjoy eating. I'm willing to try new methods and love reading to acquire new knowledge.

The journey is more important than the destination, but it's good to know where you're going. :)

Really sounds like you're on a great path...if you haven't already, you might want to start taking some pics every month to document your progress. Non Scale Victories will also become important as things progress. Take care and have a great weekend!!

Great work, Kpp! I can't imagine living w/o Pasta....diet or not! I know what you mean w/ small changes though. I started this 4 years ago, and lost 20 lbs. Over about 6 months and a Hawaii vacation I gained 10 lbs back but didn't gain the extra 10. I attribute not gaining the extra 10 lbs to not drinking sodas anymore. Those soda calories are insidious! Anyway, the good news is I've lost the extra 10 lbs and i'm on my way back down.
