so!!! I know i already posted today... but whatever lol ...

it's a beautiful day today!! my husband told me to get my butt outside and on my bike. I've been afraid to because last time I was 252.5 pounds plus the weight of my kid (i have a seat that attaches) so add another 22 pounds at the time... so trying to move 274.5 pounds on a bike... I started seeing stars, my heart rate was through the roof, my chest hurt.... and I was going slow, easy gear, just around the block. I was terrified. I felt like I was going to have a heart attack with my baby there with me!! it's one thing to die... another to put my son in danger. ... this, looking back, was a defining moment where I knew I would die early if I didn't change. in my family heart problems are all over.. that's how people in my family die. so that day on the bike was a huge slap in my face...... ok ok... fast forward..... started at 252.5... now 226.5 (or less... need a scale) ... I lost 26 pounds. my son is 24 pounds. I've displaced his weight.... so I figured my husband was right. maybe it was time to try the bike again... it was alway my favorite thing to do..... so I pumped the tires, got him in his seat, put on his cute little helmet... and we were off...... I went slow the first time around the block and realized I wasn't breathing heavy... still normal... heart rate was normal too.... so I upped my gears because suddenly I could peddle harder without my legs getting tired!! well...... then, I was speeding around the neighborhood, weaving around the parked cars and passing all the kids on their bikes .... just flying like i used to. I didn't want to stop but the little guy had enough of the wind in his face.... I could have kept going for a long time... I can feel it..... biking meant so much to me and I could bike across my old city in 16 minutes.... and now for the first time on a long time I feel like someday I can do that again.
maybe to some of you 26 pounds isn't a lot.... I know I have over 70 still to lose.... but man... I feel like I'm getting my life back....

no prob bob!!! ... ya it so nice to be able to move around quickly, not be in pain, bike... just tons of stuff... I can see my feet a bit lol

What a heart felt story, yes sometimes we let ourselves go so far that the things we used to love to do we can no longer do and we make other excuses to why we cannot do them. Way to go on the bike.

I can hear the absolute JOY in your voice!! Sometimes I think in analogies ;-) To me, changing your eating patterns is a lot like your bike ride today....starts off a little slow, picks up momentum as you go, you hit a few bumps but you find you're better at this than you thought when you started. The next thing you know you're enjoying the scenery and the wind and the FREEDOM! Enjoy your ride Hunter!! Oh, and BIG points to hubby for pushing you out the door ;-)

I didn't realize just how far I'd fallen.. but it's nice getting back up :) ........ thank you kpwcalories :D!!!..... lol ya my husband was like "you spent 500 on the bike and another in that seat... get out ... it's a nice day" ha ha ha ha !! .......... thank you misty, it doesn't always feel like a lot because I have so far to go still so it's nice to have the reminder...... thank you HBC.. it's a good thing I like it cause that what doctors say I'm allowed to do plus it's fun

I love riding the bicycle i own 5 and now in the process of buying a full suspension Ryder bike...i also love the people that ride bikes too...i wave at all of them when passing...before FS i lost 18 lbs riding without a diet....now that i have both bike and FS lost another 20 plus more lbs in three months....thank you for sharing that was touching.

Lol warrior. ... there's been a LOT of times where I'm riding and singing that song LOL ............. thanks everyone! I plan to go out again today .. when the sun is up lol... husband woke me up on his way into work so that's why I'm on. ..... Fred you have 5? wow. I had a bike that I won ... only thing I've ever won... my ex broke it lol... took me a long time to get another. so I have one. it's a nice one so I'm happy :)
