Happy New Week, Best Buddies:

So, anyone out there know Tom Venuto? I have downloaded two of his books to my iPod and the PDFs of his accompanying material during the last six months. (BTW, his website looks stupid...but his books are great.)

He is all about burning fat and building muscle naturally. What I like about the current book (Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle), is he discusses how carbs are tolerated differently for different people and that we all need to adjust our macros to suit our body type and metabolism!

WHAAAAAATTTT??? A real bodybuilder who does NOT expound how it is just calories in and calories out and what we eat does not matter? How refreshing!

I have been criticized by FS "bodybuilders" in the past claiming I could eat all the carbs I want as long as I had a caloric deficit...of course I cannot. My chemistry and metabolism will not thrive with starchy carbs!

Sounds like a great writer to check out. It seems like common sense to me, the notion that we're all different and all have different requirements and tolerances, but I guess some people will always gravitate toward dogma. In my own case, I'm best (by far) sticking with LCHF. My wife is best on a more balanced diet. If she goes too low with carbs or fat, it backfires.
