So I finally broke down and weighed myself this morning. It turns out I am 9 pounds heavier than what I was hoping I would be. I was going to treat myself on Sunday ( it's my birthday) , but now I don't want anything. I am horribly depressed now. Stupid fat self.

Don't be too hard on yourself. It looks like you are not tracking everything you eat. That made a big difference for me, helping me to avoid overeating. Good luck and happy early birthday. :)

Keep your chin up. It happens. There are ups and downs, this is not a race, it' s a journey. Start slow. Find out how many calories a day you need exactly according to your height, age and weight and go from there. Cut them down little by little and add some exercise if possible. And record everything you eat and drink at least for the first month until it becomes a habit. I know it isn' t easy, I still have trouble doing it but it gets easier with time.

Don't let it get you down! It's an eye opener to see where you are and get started moving towards your desired goal. And birthday should always be celebrated! Happy birthday! 🎉

Have a great birthday and don't be to hard on yourself. Stay positive! A birthday is a good day to start a new chapter in your life. Make it a healthy one!

This is a new starting point. You can do it.

I actually have been putting in everything I've been eating and drinking (except my water with lemon juice). I know I have some days where I haven't eaten enough, and the odd day where it's over. I'm usually aiming for 1200-1300 a day. I won't be hitting that today...again.

Be good to yourself and please don't call yourself stupid. Think positive thoughts and learn to love and take care of the "you", you are now. Be kind to yourself and treat yourself the way you would a dear friend. You are worth it.

If you are recording everything, then perhaps you need to eat more. It seems counterintuitive, but if you don't give your body enough nutrients, it starts to hold onto everything rather than losing. Like Zatskya suggested, find a calorie goal and try to get there. 1200-1300 might be enough if you actually consume that much, or you might want to aim a little higher. Eat healthy foods so those calories give your body what it needs. :)

Where we 'should' be. This is like the banks saying they've lost billions when what they mean is they're a billion short of where they should be. Don't worry about it. As long as you're losing you're losing. It's not a race. My 10 cents is make sure you're weighing your foods. I was amazed how wrong my guesses were with what I was eating for portion sizes.

accept where you are and move forward. we all lose our way so make a plan and set a small goal

If you are losing good. If you are eating nutrient dense healthy foods also good, I didn't look at your food diary. Don't push yourself to weight goals by a certain date, you body will adapt to less weight and size on it's own terms, not an arbitrary date.

I agree with Wholefoodnut. And you are not stupid; you are here on FS, determined to reduce your weight. I would say that is pretty smart. Your long term health is the best reason to reduce your weight. You are working on that. Again, that is smart. We are all here for you. Life does not always give us what we say we want; however, refocus and you will achieve your goal.
