Annabelle3117's Journal, 27 August 2015

I have officially been deemed competent in IV therapy. I passed all of my competencies on the first try! I know, you're shocked ;). Now that I've got that out of the way, and no clinicals this weekend, I don't know what to sit around and worry about lol. Always plenty of studying to keep me busy.

I went on a bike ride with the kiddo yesterday. It was a ride I've done plenty of times but yesterday It was exceptionally difficult. I think I'm coming down with my husbands man-cold, although it's not man-cold status just yet. So far I've got some sinus congestion, runny nose, and an irritated throat. That's as far as it's going to go though. By the power of positive thinking and water chugging + vitamins I have decided I'm not getting any worse than this. Might just go for a walk today though, get my steps in without being too hard on myself.

Tomorrow is weigh in day. I am cautiously optimistic for a loss. My deficits have been good this week, my deficits were good last week, so I should see a loss at some point I'm just hopeful it's this point. Like I said, lots of variables.

Oh, I had a non scale victory yesterday. So back in January/February I actually ordered new school shirts in a size large because I outgrew my mediums. Yeah, I was pretty upset but it had to be done. They are unisex polo shirts so they aren't very attractive to begin with, but the large one was even more unattractive because it hung low and the sleeves went down past my elbows. Yesterday for shits and giggles I pulled out one of my size mediums (which I was bound and determined to get back into) and low and behold it fit! Not only did it fit, but I look like twenty pounds lighter because it fits properly with none of the baggy looseness of the size large. When I walked into class I noticed a 'double take' from the girl who has lost a good chunk of weight in the last few weeks. Yup sweetheart, you're not the only one who can shed a few pounds. It was an excellent victory, and I feel a lot lighter.

I think that sums it up for now, Have a wonderful day buddies!!

I never doubted for a minute that you would make the grade in your clinical! Great successes and your Cardio stages picture made me laugh!!! It's perfect. I need to print it out for hubby now, because that's what the rowing feels like. Last night, I got home and he said - so you rowing? And I responded what do you mean - I did that LAST night, and the night before, why are you asking like I've been a slacker, I don't need to tonight (denial) why are you pressuring me? (anger) Maybe I'll do a short row (bargaining) This really sucks I can't just have a quiet night with the family blah blah blah (depression) and then (FINALLY) Whatever, I'll do my entire row, that'll show you (acceptance) Have a great one!
