Good morning buddies! Wednesday already, whew. Tired of this crappy weather. This morning my son woke up and said "Mom, turn on the heater. It's so cold in here I have chicken bumps!" lol, it was cute. It's August though, and I'm not turning on the heat. Looking forward to 80 and sunshine this weekend.

I bought some oikos triple zero yogurt because it came in a cool package and boasted 15g of protein. However, as I'm sitting here reading it I am disappointed. I suppose I should have looked more into what the three zeros were because it turns out one of them is fat. This yogurt is a good source of vitamin D, but that is a fat soluble vitamin so unless I eat this yogurt with a fat source it might as well not even be there. I won't buy it again. I know most people don't worry about things like that, but I've seen a lot of hip fractures from post menopausal osteoporosis. Granted that's a ways out for me I'd rather get in the habit now lol. Another way to build bone strength, weight bearing exercise. Daily walking in the best way to strengthen those bones. Just a fun fact of the day.

My youngest kiddo is home today. There is a staggered start for kindergarten so he won't go again until Friday. I'm enjoying my time with him, but he has already stated he wishes he was in school. I'm happy he enjoys it so much. He also asked how we were getting our exercise in today, so he's a good movement motivator. My daughter hates it, my son loves it. Polar opposites. I don't know what we will do today, it's cold and overcast. Yesterday I got a sixty minute bike ride in giving me almost a 600 calorie burn. I will have to figure something out.

Tonight I have my IV therapy competencies. I don't really feel nervous, although I'm sure I will right before. Yesterday I asked the instructor to watch me insert an IV in mock competency fashion and it was a pass. The other two competencies are hanging antibiotics/ setting pump/ calculate infusion rate and giving antibiotics through a central catheter. Those two are pretty straightforward. After tonight I have five wonderful days off of school. IV exam is next Tuesday so I suppose I will start studying for that a little every day. That exam needs to be passed with a 90% or better to continue on in the program. I could probably take it tonight and pass ;)

It is warming up here, we're going to get upper 80's the next few days. Just in time for the state fair. Hopefully it won't be too hot when we go this weekend. I think it's great that your son wants to exercise with you, hopefully that's something that will stick with him forever. I'm sure your class will go great! The next 5 days off will be nice. Enjoy!!

We're having crappy weather too. I've been to the shops the last couple of days. That's still walking, right? Well, I also did an actual walk late yesterday. I think you just persuaded me I should go out for half an hour now. Reluctantly ...
