Happy Friday!

So I finally weigh less than I did April 29th. This is a result of a failed experiment. I had been trying to relax my plan a little on the weekend (spending time with friends and family) but seem to have taken it too far off course.

The weekend plan is something I will have to figure out for myself. I'll report back on Monday morning.

Congrats on you weigh-less, we have to take this gradually and if we fall off the path it is easy to return to it. Just think of it as a slight delay, not a failure (speaking to myself too of course) Have a great weekend until Monday morning for all our weigh-ins.

Congrats on the loss AND on trying experiments! In the long run, I think a person is more successful when they try and sometimes don't succeed, than when they take no reasoned chances whatsoever. Ultimately, I think it tells you more about yourself and gives you good info for the future. Have a great weekend.

Are you saying your going off course with food? For me its so hard to be strict on weekends.. But over time you will find what works for you. Giving myself Saturday to enjoy foods I normally don't eat (in moderation of course...no gorging here!) It keeps me on track 6 days of the rest of the week. I am not sure what your weekends look like but if you get off track, try keeping your breakfast healthy and if at dinner you seem to slip its ok because you at least made breakfast healthy and filling with nutrients and such. Don't worry you sound like you are doing just great!!

I sometimes have a hard time on the weekends as well. I don't usually work out on the weekends because we're pretty busy with family life, and I'm only really able to track my food on Saturday IF I'm home. Sundays, I'm at church through lunch and we usually have dinner at my mom's. I don't have apps on my phone (don't have a fancy phone for that) so I can't document while I'm out and about but I do TRY to practice good portion control and if I want dessert, I either eat it at lunch OR dinner, not both. Now that I've figured out exactly how many calories I need to consume with or without exercise, I need to keep that in mind on the weekends especially if I'm not working out.

I agree with Sandy....have been trying to "tweak" things and while I am not gaining, I am not losing either. But if I don't try to shake things up a bit I might as well just eat the same thing every day and drop off the social scene all together. There has to be a perfect blend for each of us. I read about too many people who lose weight and then maintain for there not to be something. I don't necessarily believe that there is a one-size fits all when it comes to this, however. I applaud you for "experimenting" and am glad to hear that you are back down to where you were a couple of weeks ago...it makes the next pound even sweeter. Good job!

STT - The failure is that it took me 2 weeks to lose one pound - mainly due to weekend excess.

Way to go Buffy, and yes the only way to succeed is to have some failure

Panegale - Mondays - Fridays are usually predictable. I eat the food I bring to the office and, for the most part can adhere to my l6:8 schedule. Weekends are total chaos. Apparently I don't function well in chaos.

AmySkids - Kind of like my weekends!

Haha Buffy, I am the same way. Easy to stick to the plan at work, I bring in my food as well. Weekends- it took me a long time to figure out how I can somewhat control it. But like I said I am sure you will find a way through the chaos!

Gwen - You said it - that "perfect blend". My "social scene" is usually someone calling for us to do something on the spur of the moment, which means my food plan for the day is shot. But then something has to balance it out if I don't want to start gaining again. Got to find what that something is.

Good for you! Maybe do weekends but eat half as much?

HCB - You are right. A little self discipline would go a long way.
