performance: losing 4.0 lb a week

I am blessed to live in Western NC
I am a 61 year old happily married man to a truly amazing woman
I have been overweight ever since I graduated college
(I did have a LOT of verbal and emotional abuse as a child)
My all time high weight was 512 in Feb. ‘09
I really only started trying to eat healthy and get in better shape
in August 2011- - - That’s when I joined FatSecret. I lost down to 372 in the next 10 months, but like many others I gained much of it back
(after the death of my father and near death of my brother)
Part of the reason, but NOT all, was I never posted a journal or reached out to anyone on FS until just a couple of weeks ago.
Although I have been so amazingly blessed to avoid heart disease, diabetes, and many of the other complications of being extremely overweight, nevertheless my doctors finally talked me into having gastric sleeve surgery
( in part because I was nearing the insurance “cut-off age”)
I was extremely cautious, but it has gone very, very well.
You can view that I have made amazing progress already, although I do have a health complication that makes it very difficult to do much walking or exercise - - -but I am committed to do as much as I can as often as I can.

I care about people, but I’m not interested in just seeing how many buddies I can “collect” on FS. Rather would like to have a reasonable number of folks I can encourage and receive encouragement from on a regular basis.
If you have the time and emotional energy to support journal posts and send a personal mail on occasion, feel welcome to make a buddy request.
I do believe one of the great opportunities in life is to encourage each other as we travel the journey.
Warmest Regards and Best Wishes to ALL who take the time to read this. 

Life is full of surprises IF person who started this thread never comes back he has brought several 58+ folks together. joined 3 years ago right after my 58 birthday thus my "screen name" I have gastric sleeve scheduled for Mon. Dec 22...peace in heart about it but still this b my first surgery in life and only my 3rd trip to stay overnight in hosp. Appreciate prayers from praying folks and "good thoughts" from others. TY very much for listening!

What's the most you've put on after a month of letting yourself go?
Think many who have a whole month of "letting go" prob just quit weighing until ready to "get back on program" However, once i started eating healthy I realized that I could gain over 5 lbs in just one day on just a total of 3,000 calories if most of those cals are junk...yes some water retention cuz of salt, but still take 3-4 days to lose
ty for interesting question...Keep on Keeping On !!!!!

I don't really need to add to anything to all of the posts already posted.Gnat824 offered some terrific strategies...however, once you have already had a "bad day" just say to yourself "I had a bad day" and then go back on your plan immediately. i have now lost over 100 pounds and I have had several bad days (or maybe better to say: days NOT on plan) but just keep on keeping on and you will succeed. Success to day at a time. Warmest Regards.
