Ms Elizabeth's Journal, 23 October 2014

I can't pee!!! Well I could pee. If I could sit. Just another bit of proof that I'm going downhill fast. I did 50 squats yesterday. Today?? I can't sit. It's either going to kill me going down or kill me attempting to get up. Whichever it is.. I can't pee because I can't sit and I'd never be able to get back off the toilet if I did. And well... I don't want to spend the rest of my life in the bathroom at work.

Who knew you could get out of shape so fast??? Then I did the math and it's been about 11 months since I've lifted weights. Sure I still milk cows every once in a while but not like I used to. Now that hubby has the extra help in the barn I spend my nights chasing kids, arguing over veggies, and screaming at them to stop screaming. Although.. last night my quiet, teeth clenched, deep voiced "The next person who screams IS GOING TO BED." Did seem to work better than the typical "inside voices" "be quiet" "SHUT UP".

I guess is serves me right. I smirked when I read my challenge. Plank.. crunch.. pushup.. and squat? Ha! Easy Peasy. NOT! And I'm suppose to increase the squats and crunches by 5 each day?? The pushup by 1.. and the plank by 5 seconds?? Every day?? For 30 days?? HOW!?!?! *smacking head* I just want to be able to sit and pee!

As for everything else in my dieting world. I want a poptart and I want it bad. *smacking head*

LOL.. I hate it when that happens!! I will never forget that first time squatting sorness that I received as a gift for my hard work. There is nothing else like it. The good part of all this is that it means you did a good job! Keep it up! You really can accomplish anything you set your mind to.

Oh Haaaa that brings memories back!!! I overdid it cycling then doing two intensive classes. I couldnt sit on the toilet! The only way I could get down there was to drop (noisily) to the seat. Now this would have been OK had I been alone, but (of all things) we had builders working on our bathroom. Not funny, NOT FUNNY!!!!!

After I received a full knee replacement squats are out of the questions, but there are exercises that work the same muscle groups and sore is still sore. After my knee replacement I had to use my arms to lower and pull myself up. I can tell you the upper body was weaker than the legs. I knew then I had to start working the entire body of muscles and drop some weight, because my bu** was to heavy for my arms.No wonder the knee went out.

The more you do them, the more your body will adapt, eventually they wont make you sore at all. :)

Haha! Not to laugh at your pain. I was in similar pain just last week from trying to put in all my exercise for the month in one session with a trainer, who I will never see again as long as I live. So I peed standing in the shower and ran the water. It is all good! Good luck

It's only the First time (in a long time) that you do an exercise that you get that more extreme soreness the next day. Just remember to give your body TIME TO HEAL: 3 days, before doing that muscle group again. It IS okay to do an excercise every day if it doesn't tax your muscles much. But any exercise that causes that kind of pain next day, is pushing yourself too hard too often. I've been lifting weights seriously since 1984. so I know a little bit about it. :) Good job getting back into it though! :)

Awwww the joys of this journey! Do risk peeing! Otherwise on top of everything else you'll have a UTI! Lord knows that isn't on your bucket list! Take care and never cry uncle!!!

Try using the handicap stall. It has a rail you can use to help you get up. Lol! Amazing how, do it again and you go to bed works. Lol!
