DairyKing's Journal, 26 August 2014

Good Morning, FS Warriors! Well, I woke up this morning at about 2:00 for some reason. So, I decided to just get up, see what the weather was like, and then go back to bed. So, I walk out into the foyer and I can touch the mugginess; just so heavy. So I thought, "I'll probably never get back to sleep, why don't I just get dressed out and go torture myself?" So I put on my running clothes and went for an easy 3.2 mile run. First run since the 10K; I was afraid to go too long without running, or I might loose too much ground. It really wasn't that bad. Acutally cooler outside than it felt when I was inside. But it was humid. I ran jogging and accelerating intervals, and still felt rather good, howbeit wet, when I got back. I'm probably going to regret having gotten up so early, about mid-afternoon, but a man's got to do what a man's got to do. Haha! I'm already wishing I was back in bed, but it's time to go shower. Hope everyone has a great day! Toodles!

So your day started at 2 am? How many hours of sleep do you get at night? I can't function without at least 6. And when I do wake up in the middle of the night I tend to stew about something going on in my life. Your response seems much healthier!

You're amazing.

Haha, Grammy, I only got 4 last night, but I usually get 5 1/2 or 6. Sleep is one of those things that the more you get the more you want. Either way, you end up lacking. So what the heck! I don't advocate going without sleep; I know a good night's sleep is better for weight loss and good health, but I guess I'd rather be a little light on the sleep than the other way around. There's just somethng about making sacrifices that makes meeting your goals in life more meaningful. Thanks, Guys!

New moon celebration run :-D I hope you can squeeze a nap in the afternoon. I love sleeping, although I am an owl, go to bed around 02:00

Aila, I would have to be careful about not becoming a night owl in retirement also. I could probably get more into watching the old reruns on TV that they reserve for the middle of the night, than the stuff that's on TV in the daytime. But, I don't really have time for much TV anyway. Would rather have a dinner out and a movie; work my a$$ off the rest of the time. LOL!

Good for you that you can get up and go for a run! You are awesome!

Aila is it muggy where you live? Here in Ohio we only have one bad month of humidity, followed by violent storms at night. Down by the Gulf of Mexico it is off the charts muggy!!! Not for me!

Only you would add a 2 AM work out to your regimen! Must be I am in need of "beauty sleep" more than you.

Kattay, you're going to give me a swelled head to match my belly. But thanks!

DairyKing, it is internet and reading for me - I don't watch TV for 6 years now. I watch TV series and movies online, and read real books, lol. Eddie, it may be quite humid from time to time but almost always windy because of the mountains running towards the sea on the west coast (compared to parallel on the south - Mediterranean coast) so it is not suffocating.

You know, it's one thing for you to go running at 3 in the morning but now 2am? Seriously? I'm starting to imagine Forrest Gump, you know. Amazing you are, Forrest. Run.. Forrest, run.

" Jenny, I don't know if Momma was right or if, if it's Lieutenant Dan. I don't know if we each have a destiny, or if we're all just floating around accidental-like on a breeze, but I, I think maybe it's both."

Well, I'm going to sleep good tonight. I don't have to run in the morning, so I had a couple glasses of a pretty decent merlot. I am going to get off here before I get all mushy (no pun intended, Bella) and tell you all I love you or something.

DK - we love you, too! Running at 2:00am? I would have been afraid of tripping in the dark. Do you run with a headlamp?

Enjoy your Merlot. Wanna bet you are going to be up early anyway and go for a quick run?

Well done, DK. So inspiring.
