Ruhu's Journal, 15 March 2014

TGIS! My weekend continues & so does my newly found enthusiasm for getting out of my comfort zone of my weekday routine. While I may always prefer what my weekdays have become (morning workout, & some time to meditate, socialize (in my kind of way), for pampering, etc.), I'm enjoying my weekends more & more as I continue to look at them as opportunities to live, love & eat mindfully. And, even though we'll still have our moments (as we did yesterday when DH realized his bedside clock had not been changed for daylight savings & he was going to be late for a meeting at work -- my fault of course for not thinking to change it!), DH has not been pressuring me to socialize beyond what I'm comfortable with. In fact, just recently the couple that I love spending time with that we went to Utah with , asked if we'd like to go to a Bruce Springsteen concert & overnight in May. DH told me it was up to me:). So, we're going!

Of course my disordered thinking voice still tries to tell me that this too shall pass… I'm feeling too good & doing too well for it too last… It must be a fluke & the overeating/binging/struggles to find a WOE that works for me will soon return. But, my self-care voice is getting louder & louder, and one day at a time and one Curious & Calm speaking at a time is keeping me in Charge. For now, that means staying my course gluten, lactose & sugar aware eating in my 16:8 IF window when I can do so mindfully. So, TGIS, it is! And, it is time to start my day in prayer before I head to workout, make a stop at Whole Foods, do some book work, then mass & maybe dinner out with DH (if he's not too sleep deprived from his travels) --

God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.

Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
Taking, as He did, this sinful world
as it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right
if I surrender to His Will;
That I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with Him
Forever in the next.
Amen.

Through this one day, and each one meal, moment, bite, thought & emotion, I'll pray, breathe, log, journal & express my way. I'm so very grateful for each of unbelievably supportive you, my family & IRL friends, warmer temps & a real feeling that spring is truly coming, and having the health & wealth to live this life I love! xoxox

I hope that good feeling you are having will last for a long time to come. Even it goes a way for a minute it will return. Enjoy your change of pace this weekend.

I am toying with a new mantra for us .. ala.. 'if the other shoe 'does' drop, they'll be pair of beautiful strappy sandals!' as I too share that 'oh, things are going too well.. when's it gonna happen. With all of these skills you've learned and are practicing with enthusiasm you'll be able to handle any shoe drop and be tap dancing away within minutes. I just know it.

Love that!! Mine would have to be flat or almost flat ones not those heels I wore when I was 30.
