ShyGuy's Journal, 26 February 2014

By the Grace of God, I'm making it work; planning my meals, ahead of time, and making adjustments to meals, based on calories, carbs, and being careful to not go over in my RDI. As the weight is coming off, I'm cautious, to avoid eating sugar free candy, cakes, and even Dreamfield's pasta, as those may have been contributing factors in the stall that kept my weight from going even lower, before I just completely lost my mind, by getting off track for seven months. I'm making progress, the weight will come back off, and it's only a matter of time before I'm back under, 300 lbs, and can set my sights on Onederland, just as they were a year ago. It's not going to magically happen, as there are no tricks involved; it's about shear determination, and dedication to the goals I set for myself, 3 years ago. Have a great rest of the week everyone. :-)

Thanks Buffy. Sometimes you get sidetracked, and after a while, forget which way you were headed in the first place. I guess that's what kinda happened to me, and then when you wake up to reality, you have to start all over again. So be it; start over, but, never give up!!!

Very positive outlook! Progress is progress no matter how much, sometimes its in weight, inches, or mental. Keep working it, hearing from others keeps me going too!

You are right. Just keep at it with the determination. I have realized along this journey that you really have to renew your determination every day you wake up. You got this!

What do you think of beans! they are easy to cook and add to anything for fast meal of add to a meal. I soak them in water for 2 hours, boil for 2 hours, drain them and keep them in the fridge. I add 1/2 a C to an egg, or a salad or some rice. They are high in fibers, and protein, and calories are ok and you can stay full for several hours. Good luck everyone in your journey

Unfortunately beans (before soaking) are 33 to 46g net carbs per 100g :(

You will get where you want to go as long as you are willing to work for it. You have all your FS buddies to cheer you on. So let's keep moving and will get there. Have a great day.

One meal at a time, one day at a time, you got this! :)

@ Emanmaamoun, there are some beans which can be consumed while on low carb. Eden Organic has canned Black Soy Beans, which are very high in fiber, in fact high enough that the fiber offsets the carbs enough to make them very low in carbs. I use them every time I want to make a pot of chili with beans, so that there will be more than just meat in the chili.

Good to know about the beans - I've been missing traditional chili and this sounds like just the thing!
