My starting weight August 2011 (not 2012) in FS was 224.
I am a 75 year old woman blessed with a wonderful husband and family. When I started about eight years ago, my weight had gone up to 232 lbs. It came down very slowly to 210 lbs. Several years ago I had a small stroke and started to follow the WOE suggested by the hospital. Then, because of a lot of leg-pain (Venus Re-flux), I thought to cut out most meats, ate only fish, whole grains and vegetables. That effort lasted only little while.
Had a knee replacement in 2012, shoulder surgery 2012 and another knee replacement in 2013 with severe problems and a long, still ongoing, recovery.
My way of eating is basically healthy. I eat whole grains, meat, fish,vegetables, good oils and some fruit. Most meals I prepare from scratch. Processed foods are pretty much out for me. In the past I have been on Weight Watchers, Atkins and more moderate low carb diets. It seems that I never was able to stick to them for the long run. Eating healthy and in moderation is what I try to do, not always successful, but keeping focused.
