dave22's Journal, 12 September 2008

Am running the show here at work today (Gary has nipped over to Barcelona for the weekend) so in his absense I have decided to appoint myself as Honourary Presidential Managing Directior with executive powers to do cool things.. and I've swivveled extra fast in the tallest leather chair and stapled a business card onto the bamboo tree just to be radical!!!

Other than that I am still polluting meself with pints and litres and quarts of water on an hourly basis... My carbs are still down as low as me ankles... and I can feel it in me waters that I'm gonna lose a bit more this week. I've amazed meself with how I can exist on a really boring and samey diet... mind you some of the recent recipes flyin about recently have help that. The second born son informed me last night that he is gonna bake another low carb cheesecake at the weekend... I LOVE that boy, he is DEFINITELY going in me last will & testiment! Can't wait for a bowl full of low carb cheesecake 'n' jelly 'n' berries 'n' cream 'n' splenda..
thats allowed - isin't it???

Its good to be the Presidential Managing Director with exclusive powers to do cool things!!!!!

Feck the phone is ringing?!?!?!?!?! should I answer it????? What if they ask me a question????? Maybe I could pretend to be the answer machine!

later...x

It's nice to have a baker in the house-- and yours makes 'healthier' stuff! I can't get mine to bake anymore because she says we don't need it!! Have fun being Presidential Managing Director!! Don't go overboard on the cheesecake!

LOL Love your humorous journals dave, you always make me crack... I mean crack a smile, lol, if not a giggle. LOVE it. :) Sounds like the fam is accepting some of the new way of eating very well and dare I say, even enjoying it! AWESOME!! What a nice way to teach them to live and love life, in a healthy way. Although, I shudder at the thought of your food bill, feeding THREE boys, okay FOUR (you so count) all the MEAT that you must have to buy! lol I'd be putting a cow on some pasture yearly (as I grew up with) and buying me a big freezer to put it in. :) Keep up the awesome job and have fun being the BIG boss on FRIDAY... doesn't that meant that you get to go golfing at noon and not be seen again til Monday??? *wink, wink*

Well, Mr. President, you have a son who makes cheesecake?! That'd be a gift from heaven for me! If he ever wants to make a trip to the US, just let me know. I'd be HAPPY to have him stay with me! Kudos to you for getting all that water consumed and keeping those carbs on the low side. Can't wait to see your weigh in! :)

Good to have you back Dave. I was wondering if they had chained you up at work and forced you into slave labor, but I see instead you've been (self-)promoted! Congratulations! LOL. It sounds like that cheesecake is going to become a staple at your house. Congratulations on letting your son learn how to make it. I think that is great! (oh, and it still counts for the recipe challenge, don't worry)

I'm going to have to make that darn cheesecake!! You talking about it all the time is making me hungry for it! Glad to see you finally got a promotion - even if it is only for a day. By the way, I don't have any children, and I've never really wanted any...until now. How much for your son?

LOL, Here's what to do when the phone rings, make the sound... "Do do do"...(like the out of order tune) then say, "I'm sorry, the # you have reached.. (say the #) has been disconnected and is no longer in service, please hang up and try your call again"... then take the phone off the hook!! HA!

This was probably already said above but I don't have time to read ALL the comments on your journal, there are too many! Being an executive and all, shouldn't you be the one in Barcelona or at least have an assistant to answer the phone? lol.

haha, pretend to be the answer machine! enjoy your cheesecake!

I hope you enjoyed your cheesecake and golf game! I had to read the sentence twice about your carbs being down around your ankles. Wasn't sure WHAT was down around your ankles! Thought maybe you had the laptop with you in the bathroom!

I'll take the "boring, samey diet" instead of the food craving and usual worries of "what for dinner" and "when is the next meal?" anytime. If your diet is boring, you need to fix that, maybe teach the other boys the way around the kitchen. It worked for me, Mark is a wonderful cook (now ;) ) Maybe you need to change to positive thinking, like what you CAN have instead what you choose NOT to have, especially now that you are the Honourary Presidential Managing Directior with executive powers!!!
