They say that absense makes the heart grow fonder, don't they... but being contrary I think that a load of oul codswallop. Absense just makes ya sad - its being in 'CONTACT' that makes yer heart fond and full.... I was yet again reminded last week how being in contact with f/s really makes the heart hum...

So last week we did this strange thing and met up with people from the Internet, people from fatsecret in fact....sharonfriz people who came to visit this land of calories carbs and breads! We only had one evening and two kinda half days but since they've been gone their absense has been really sad but the memory and the encounter will live on brightly and always cause a warm glow. The occasion lived up to ALL the giddyness and excitement prior to their arrival..... What absolute gems of human delight!!! and I thank them for gracing us....

I'm sure that sharon might comment herself (thats if shes not in therapy trying to recover from overdoses of wine, breads and mad Irishpeople!) but it was just the most wonderful time for me and the family... and all 'cause of fatsecrets... streching over 5000 miles... We had NO hesitation grasping this opportunity because... well ya know yerself when ya can feel it in your waters that people will be brilliant and that is how it was.... savagely brilliant... so thank you Fatsecret and thanks sharon.... you survived it too - but I expect the twitching to start anyday now...

Right so... tis off to the land of lurkdom again.. Miss one and all here and I love getting in to check up on events.. I mean isin't it great that keri is having twins!!!!

Eat well and prosper ya'll ~s~

I might have to pop into the ER later to get my ass reshaped after spending most of yesterday evening sitting round the oul kitchen table with friends till the early hours chattin' and laughin' and chattin'. Isin't it the best thing in the world doing that!!! kinda cements your place in your world - if ya have a healthy family, a roof, food and good friends - then you are blessed beyond measure!

We had Tiernans 9th birthday party yesterday (his actual birthday was last Mon) so it was a very successful low carb party it was straight forward really there were just no sweets 'n' stuff. We did allow a cake and we had some ham rolls and a few pizza's (there have to be SOME allowances after all) but no bowls and plates of sweets as in days of yore..

Progress this week on the oul challenge front

On another sadder note for me... some of ya know that I've been really strugglin' of late to do justice to this place. I've been finding that the time taken to read all the brillliant journals, journal meself, send a few mails and make comments is just beyond what I can do. So the outcome is either that I become an interupted and occasional visitor or else I thank the heavens above (and you) for the golden threads that this place has woven in my life and move onward.

The giggles and achievements and a sifnificant friendship is more than anyone could ask for and I do thank you all... my only hope is that somewhere along the way I might have done for someone else what you have all done for me.. and with a full heart I am gonna put meself out to pasture and retire gracefully..

Don't forget me too soon cause I sure ain't forgettin' any of you guys...

*feckin' savage huggles*

Am running the show here at work today (Gary has nipped over to Barcelona for the weekend) so in his absense I have decided to appoint myself as Honourary Presidential Managing Directior with executive powers to do cool things.. and I've swivveled extra fast in the tallest leather chair and stapled a business card onto the bamboo tree just to be radical!!!

Other than that I am still polluting meself with pints and litres and quarts of water on an hourly basis... My carbs are still down as low as me ankles... and I can feel it in me waters that I'm gonna lose a bit more this week. I've amazed meself with how I can exist on a really boring and samey diet... mind you some of the recent recipes flyin about recently have help that. The second born son informed me last night that he is gonna bake another low carb cheesecake at the weekend... I LOVE that boy, he is DEFINITELY going in me last will & testiment! Can't wait for a bowl full of low carb cheesecake 'n' jelly 'n' berries 'n' cream 'n' splenda..
thats allowed - isin't it???

Its good to be the Presidential Managing Director with exclusive powers to do cool things!!!!!

Feck the phone is ringing?!?!?!?!?! should I answer it????? What if they ask me a question????? Maybe I could pretend to be the answer machine!

later...x

If those two lil brain cells were ever to travel anywhere in me it would have to be by row boat!!! Since the challenge began I'd swear that I'm drinkin' a million gallons per day... (ok its only been two litres a day but its some job getting it down).

Then of course if me last two remaining brain cells, cast adrift as they would be got hungry... they could always go low carb fishin' no doubt they would catch a fine morsel of lamb, beef, pork, chicken or a sprout or something.

and iffin they just hang on for just another couple of weeks or so they will be able to go surfing on a mighty black tidal wave with a creamy white head... hmmmmmm... several times!

2.2lbs gone since the challenge began - can I double it by Sundays weigh in I wonder!

Opps I can hear one of those lil brain cells yellin'

"Land Hoooooo"

They must have discovered Mount Omellette - home to the egglet tribe!

Keep between the ditches my friends..xx
