Wednesday and THE SUN IS SHINING...woooooohoooo! Just in time ~ I did not want to endure another dreary day. I worked out back this morning and tried to restore a little 'order' to my yard; I'm having the deck and workbench restained and the 'guys' moved the stuff everywhere there was a bare spot on the grass. Total chaos and it will be a day or two before it dries out from the powerwash before they return to stain. I couldn't take my little slice of heaven looking like hell.

Chicken breast, spinach and tomato for breakfast (ode to SEL) and really enjoyed it. Not sure why I abandoned this from my meals but am glad to recover it ~ I am trying to increase protein and decrease fat for a while so this is a welcome change from the bacon.

After clearing the yard I walked over to the market ~ husband wants a chicken, avocado, tomato wrap for lunch. Prepped the avocado and it is fabulous (had to taste of course, I'm in charge of quality control, LOL)

I picked up a fresh pineapple too - more fabulous. Then I crushed some cucumber and stirred in yogurt to make a fresh dip. Also sliced up a cucumber, tomato & onion salad. Plus the cheesecake is finally gone so I made him a banana wafer pudding. I was a chopping, stirring, blending fool there for about an hour and loved it.

Such a change from yesterday ~ we had horrid storms and weather alerts and my internal defenses went haywire. I'm not sure if it was the second or third trip into the kitchen to 'get a little bite of something' before I finally threw the brakes on and reminded myself that 'No amount of food is going to make the TV less loud, stop the rain, make the TV less loud, bring the UPS guy with the art brushes back or make the TV less loud.'

I was thinking I should put up little signs around Bellawood like they post in factories:
Days without a paring knife related injury in the kitchen: 14
Days without going off the rails eating: 0

Ah well, brand new day and I'm off to a good start. The rest of the day is up to me.

Bella

LOL... I like the factory sign idea :) All your talk of food is making me hungry! It sounds like you enjoyed yourself, too. Have some fun in the sun!

14 days without a knife injury!? DANG! That's impressive Bella! Frankly I think there's an alert system in place to let delivery services know the precise moment you leave the house so that they can send their fastest agent to ring your doorbell and scamper off with your package so you have to wait another day.

And I'm coming to your house to eat, your stuff sounds so much better than my stuff!

Yeah for the sun...nothing cheers like the golden ball in the sky. Your sign idea made me laugh. I just came from a trip to the kitchen where I visited the cashews...again. I need a sign that says " do not enter " what about those headphones that cut out all noise ? Just for a little while ? I hate too much noise. I took all the batteries out of my kids toys lol...mean mom.

Thanks everyone. Even though I'm sitting in the shop and it's still a slow day the sun definitely helps. It's making me wonder if there is something more I could take or do to help combat the 'blues' I get on cloudy days; otherwise I may need to relocate and Seattle is definitely off the radar, LOL. I actually love to cook and thought many times about a restaurant (down home southern). I did get headphones for him once but never returned them - I just feel 'bad' asking him to wear them when he's already hooked up to oxygen 24hours a day plus now a CPap mask throughout the night and several hours - probably one of those 'I'm cold so I'll make YOU wear a sweater things' - I just couldn't comfortably put another restraint onto him but HE's brought it up several times so I'm going to go browse. Oh, wait, you were talking about 'me' wearing them... LOL ... yeah, I guess I'm being stubborn on those because I already have to wear headphones to bed because of the TV that runs about 20 hours a day around here. I think him wearing them would work because at least I can hear 'him' if he needs me.

That works well so long as he doesn't yell back at the TV...

Love the idea of the factory sign. and I do hope your art supplies come soon, frustrating when you want to get up and going. And thanks for the name of the book. Also glad the sun is shining a bit in your corner of the world today.

Neptune the auto correct works in comments on my computer - maybe FS just programed MY login :-) Have you logged out & back in? Yep Bren - the sun - helps. Beginning to wonder if I need to get yellow tinted glasses for those cloudy days; they're killers!

Hi Hun, thanks for your comments on my journal as always, I feel so 'heard' when people say 'hi'. Re Atkins Induction - fruits are definitely not allowed on induction and only certain types of veggies totalling 15 net carbs give or take. 20 net carbs in total. (subtract the fibre from the total carbs and you get 'net carbs') Atkins does work, it definitely does, but it isn't easy in the long run. I do miss fruits and I do have the odd fruit now and again. Bananas are my favorite as are oranges and apples. The fruit Atkins recommends are low carb ie berries. However Atkins has a carb ladder that one is supposed to 'climb' as the diet progresses and you can introduce higher carb fruit and veggies until you begin to gain, at which point you scale back and you should by then know how much carb your body can tolerate before you gain. There, that's it in a nutshell I think. You are doing fab with what you are doing so I wouldn't change it. I doubt I'll change from Atkins either. I just bitch and complain a lot. If I could stop eating crap and indulge in good stuff like yogurt - oh how I miss yogurt - its impossible to get a full fat version here in Ontario, and I do miss fruit but I do cheat from time to time with fruits - doesn't it sound funny to say 'cheat with fruit' lol. Hope this isn't too long of a comment :)
