Ruhu's Journal, 25 April 2013

Oh, woe is me!... I've been feeling a bit overwhelmed recovering from my wonderful Rome trip, trying to get caught up with my bookkeeping work & housework, and needing to get ready for my next trip (I leave on Sunday) to move my (6'3") baby home from college & go with him, my eldest son & DH to visit my Mom. But in praying for serenity this morning, I will add my gratitude for all I'm blest with --

*to have the time, energy, health & finances to be able to travel
*to have 2 wonderful sons & an amazing DH (plus our great extended family) in my life & to travel with
*to have my bookkeeping work, which while there are other jobs I'd much rather have, I am able to do as a help to family & friends who are not strong in this area
*to have the love & support of wonderful, amazing friends here on FS & in person
*to have a beautiful home & a life that I love
*to have the best, most wonderful career (for me) of all -- being a Mom!

So, to that I'll add my prayer --

God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.

Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
Taking, as He did, this sinful world
as it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right
if I surrender to His Will;
That I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with Him
Forever in the next.
Amen.

And, I'll be praying, breathing, logging, posting & expressing over this one day, meal, moment, bite or emotion at a time. xoxox (P.S. I feel so much better already & thank you all for being here for me every step of the way!)

I always say you need another vacation just to recover from a vacation. But in this case I'd think your adrenalin will pull you through!

Great journal. I agree it helps to face the challenges of the day when we start by remembering the gifts we have to aid us.

You said it all in your journal so all I will say is I hear you and yes life is overwhelming but your plan is sound - breathe, pray, one foot in front of the other. As a mum, your life is crazy busy but you know from past experience that somehow (magic wand?) it all comes together. You have expressed your gratitude beautifully, you are indeed blessed, and that knowledge will definitely brighten your day, as you brighten mine. Thanks for your continued support on my journal. I too feel better having expressed my gratitude today and in coming here and feeling your sunshine. Have an awesome, if busy, day.

Your journal reminds me so often to take care of the things I can. I am so grateful for it - it helps me get through the day more often than I can count!
