Role Reversal. That's what it feels like. DW was always the grazer, and I was the 2-all-beef patties-special sauce-pickle-lettuce person. Tonight she decides she wants to go to MacDonals for supper, because she's dying to try the hamburger with the cheddar and grilled onions, and the meal comes with two of the sandwiches, and fries. And that's what she gets, plus a vanilla iced coffee. Mr. Beeferoni, yours truly, gets a southwestern grilled chicken salad w/ranch dressing and a big black coffee. Tasted great!

But it's wierd. Before, I might have gotten two quarter pounders with cheese and thrown away one of the buns, if I was on a diet. But, I was satisfied; it tasted fine, filled me up and I nursed my coffee while she finsihed her meal. I guess it's the military in me - get my food, get it down and get gone. I don't care if she was just eating a stick of celery, I'd be done eating before she was. She's a slow eater, and I'm Speedy Gonzales; what a pair!

Just so you don't think I'm Mr. Discipline himself, let me tell you that I fell off the wagon a bit last night. I did really well for supper, but I think I stayed up too late, and allowed the snack monster to whisper sweet nothings in my ear. First I ate the rest of the tuna salad, that I had made for the wraps the other day, along with some stone wheat crackers. That wouldn't have been too bad, but then I ate 3 or 4 small pieces of peanut brittle, and since I was on a role, and there was one of those mini-Hersheys Cookies & Cream candy bars just sitting there on the counter, all alone saying "Eat me, Eat me" - I did. Not the worse binge I've been on, but a lost battle nontheless. Did better today I think.

Well, thanks for indulging my ramblings. Hope everyone has a good night and a better day tomorrow. Toodles!

DK, I am a super slow eater...sometimes it can take me an hour to finish a meal. lol Glad that you did well at Mickey D's...the quarter pounder is my weakness, so I just stay the heck away! LOL As for your bingette (not a full blown binge, so I'll call it that), that's not so bad, and you did good today, so no worries! Have a great Sunday!

Impressive! What did DW think of the new sandwich?

My mom was laughing at me the other day because she said I "eat lunch like a teacher" - I guess I wolfed it down pretty quick, I'm used to only having 10-15 minutes and having to get to class right away!! :) Great job at McD's, I'm with HCB, those dang fries get me every time... and I can hardly blame you for the peanut brittle and cookies/creme bar... yum!!! But glad you kept it somewhat under control :)

DW liked the sandwich. It looked like their original sized buger, but with grilled onions ans a slice of cheese. It didn't look like there was any condiments on it. I say that because she removes half the bun to eat the sandwich and it looked pretty clean.

Great job at MacD's.... Ooops on the snacking ... :-). One of the rings Paul McKenna talks about in "I can make you thin" sessions is..... Put your knife and fork DOWN after each mouthful and DON'T pick them up, until you have finished chewing and have swallowed the current mouthful. Like you, I am a fast eater.... But I now TRY and follow his advice... I does work. You don't eat as much, as your stomach has a chance to tell your brain, it's full. Another thing he talks about is, don't deny yourself ANYTHING..... BUT, when you do eat (as in your peanut brittle), savour it, keep it in your mouth and REALLY taste the flavour. That works too, you don't eat as much. I TRY and do this too... It usually means I don't want as much. I know, if I don't do this, I will DEFINATELY eat more, I just stick in my mouth, chew once and swallow - almost like I feel guilty, so want to get rid of it ASAP.... Then I get mad with myself - after all, what's the point of having the "naughty" stuff, if you don't savour it.

Hey Buddy...I use to eat fast as we only had 30 minutes for break at the sewing factory..I had to eat fast so I could have at least 2 cigs before slaving over the machine until break time again..But when I joined WW they always said eat slow..so now I eat slow..it helps you realize your full quicker...And Oh how I understand the cookies, candy etc calling your name..Even when you don't really want it..its there for the taking....Pam is sooo right..just need to put that good advice to work on me...LOL..Have a great Sunday....:O)

Roll reversal indeed! You never fail to impress! BTW - those wraps are my "go to meal" at McDonalds these days. Salad just can't be gobbled on the run.

When i get very hungry i get tired and vice versa... i just try to go to bed before the snack monster wakes up!

I did a challenge here on FS. It was to swear off junk food entirely. It really kept me vigilantly aware of those land mines and I stayed away entirely. Mc Donalds is not responsible for all the weight I gained over the past couple years, but my driving through Mc Donalds WAS! I salute your salad and black coffee Sir! That binge should be considered a treat which you shall have again, but not for a long while. Do not turn it into a big deal. You deserve praise not punishment for your overall work! Best of all things to you and your Wife on this great journey!

LOL, DK. McDonalds? Whatever happened to your wife's Chinese food cravings. It was Chinese, right? Hope you both have a wonderful Sunday.

You guys are right. Sk1nny, I know what you're talking about, and it does work. I think DW still would rather go to a chinese place, but it's a buffet, and I told her up front that I wasn't going to do that yet. That salad was actually pretty good, and enough. My initial intent is always for quantity; if I can just eat what I enjoy, eat only when I'm hungry, and quit eating when I'm full, I know I'll win this battle. The tips Sk1nny mentioned actually help turn that strategy into tactical maneuvers.

"tactical maneuvers". We all know, that is what "turns DK on" LOL
