dave22's Journal, 19 May 2008

shuffles uncomfortably into the spotlight and stands on the spot marked X. Taking out a crumpled piece of paper from me pocket and clearing me throat as I open it...

"ahem..."

"First journalled at fatsecret some weeks ago now
teamed up with Atkins to bring my weight low,
type in my figures, pressed send with some fear
and cleared out me cake, desserts and fine beer.

Then out from the woodwork crept voices and faces
sharing their wisdom on an everyday basis,
encouragement, menu's and thousands of smiles
came floating to Ireland from 5,000 miles.

So, Liberty, Mike, Bully, Mary Beth and 08
thank you oh thank you for being so great,
Massive and gramn, Andee, Sharon dw
the laughs that you've given - if only you knew.

Sweet lori and sharon, kim keri and Paige
the joy that you bring its impossible to gauge,
juanab, info, shannon with sara the wise
all of you angels down here in disguise.

And although with these words I'll seem quite the fool
hangin' with you guys - I'll always be cool,
Just wanted to mark the start of a new week
and remind one & all of the beauty you speak."

grins - well what did ya expect??? Art! folds the paper and ambles off.

HAPPY MONDAY FOLKS... (down one lb on the week - boring but steady)

beginning my morning with a bit of irish poetry adds a touch of class to the day to be sure!!! I wish I had a poem in response but I will say I am rejoicing your "boring" pound, somewhere along the way you gave up a pint or a crumble to earn it so as bully would say....it's a stick o butta. good for you- keep up the good work

chuckles.. thanks sharon... what I'm delighted about is that I have reached the 176 mark (which is 12 adn a half stone in Irish currency) 'twas a mini goal. Who would ever have believed it! I achieved a goal!!

I can't imagine anything being boring around you! If pressed, I sure you could tell us the story as to why that lb had to leave this week. Or at least how how you use some Irish magic to make it disappear! LOL Ahhh, if it were so easy! Thanks, I even managed a smile and chuckle before 'me' coffee!

Well hummy, some people say that me great great great grandfather on me mothers side, trice removed, was half leprachaun... (maybe thats where me manic laughter comes from!) as for the separation of me and that lb... lets just state 'irreconcilable differences'. Mind you one lb a week is sooooo slow! my next goal should be achieved by the end of June if I keep this pace up... ahhh for some tantric weight loss!

Wish I could actually hear ya with your accent, would be even better. You did great, pound by pound you're getting there. And what is 12 and 1/2 stone, is that 10 lbs for us Americans?

"Merciful hour" kim... I'd love that (cause I'd weigh even less)...a stone is 14 lbs, and there are a few of us die hards over here who still talk like that... of course everything is going metric in Europe so it will all be kilo's soon. Another learning curve!

Davy..That poem is awesome! I imagined you walking across that stage and standing in the spotlight reading your poem:) You are so very talented my friend! And losing 1 lb. is way better than losing 0 lbs. or worse yet gaining!!! You're doing great! Keep it up :D

That was great, Dave! Thanks for sharing it. :D You bring sunshine to our days here at FS. I think 1lb a week, slow and steady, is great. Reaching goals is even better! I know how hard it is to be patient, but making tremendous changes in your life sometimes takes a lot of little changes. Keep it up!

DAVE!!! You are frickity funny!!! Way to make my day (and many others, as I can see from the above)!! I can't wipe the smile off my face!! And I say 1lb a week is fine - thats 52lbs in a year!!!! I could live with that!

Oh, I have looked forward to your journal all day, and I was not disappointed!!! FS wouldn't be the same without ya!

Tantric weight loss. Of course I've only heard Sting's reference on that so hmmm. Way to go on the 1 pound loss. Before you know it you'll be slim and your kids will have to be your entourage as you'll be onstage recitin. A written spotlight is wonderful and joyful for us, but the masses are calling for you.
