HCB's Journal, 05 October 2012

The Idiot Box finally went down today! I am not a compulsive scale person...but I sometimes like to check-in.

I saw 187.4 this morning...this was AFTER putting new batteries in the scale!

Duh...my DH suggested new batteries and then weighing in the kitchen where the floor is totally level since the bathroom floor has old ceramic tiles that seem to slightly slant in places!

Whoda thunk it, right? And, remember, I REDUCED my fat consumption this week and that is more likely the cause of the drop. I also moved my night fruit and yogurt to earlier in the day. (M2B's idea)

Weekend is here for me now, and so happy to be able to get a "reward" haircut and enjoy the sunny and blustery Autumn day. I might do a lake walk today if not too cold!

ADDENDUM: OK - was too cold for me to walk the lake because of the wind...and my new haircut! You know how a girl feels - didn't want the new "do" blown all to hell.

SO, I did the back muscle groups circuit training DVD with my favorite "butt-kicks" in it!

Still grateful for:

- The people I love who love me back!
- The good health of my loved ones
- My FS Buddies who support and encourage me to continue
- "Butt-kicking" myself to a smaller size today
- My DH - who is my greatest "cheerleader"
- My Bengal cat companions named Bodhi and Ravi
- My work - which has meaning and worth to other human beings
- My connection to the Mother Earth and its entire splendor
- My physical health

We all know you are doing well but it is always great to get confirmation of that. Keep up what you are doing - it is better to lose slowly and be healthy than to lose your weight and your health.

Always love to hear your good news! New cut? Think you need to update your pic then ;-). Enjoy the weekend! Supposed to rain here :-(.

Haircut is not really a new style...although I would like a teeny, tiny, diamond nose stud! Hmmm...57 years old and I am still a defiant kind! Or a second tattoo...after I reach good goal weight?

I keep holding off on y tattoo until I get below 130 but I don't think I'll wait too much longer lol! I'd love the stud, my neighbor got one for her 40th bithday. Issue is although I am all for self expression I don't want to give my kids any ideas at this point. My little one begs to get her ears pierced. Told her not until she can take care of them.

Yeah - and some of my clients are children and adolescents - with parents who bring them in to see me...so they might think, "who is this kook treating my kid?" LOL - ask me if I care, though!

Great news from the idiot box! LOL. Good job switching things up to get results. Enjoy your day :)

Oh I wouldn't care lol! Just don't want to hypocritical. She doesn't get the difference between 4 and 40 right now.

Get the nose ring. Join the club. That's one I have. I think it's cute. People hardly notice it. I'm techincally not supposed to wear face jewelry at my job....But I've had it for 10 years, I'm not parting with it!

Congrats on your new low! More importantly, you're making adjustments to see their effect. Good job!

Great job on the new low! I knew you'd come through. As for the piercing, of course, do what you want, it's your body, and all that yada yada stuff...but rest assured, people DO notice.

It would be a teeny, tiny, small, miniscule little diamond stud on the side of my nose...and, people would probably notice which is why I have not yet done it!

YAY on the movement of the scale. Maybe before every WI you should insert new batteries? No? LOL! Fabulous!! SO proud of you, HCB! You know it was the late night snacking, right? LOL! I am just so happy for you. It gets frustrating at the best of times, but old habits sneak in sometimes and keeps us from losing. That is my prob, too. Have a great day! Hugs!

Congrats! I knew you could!

M2B - I wasn't actually late night snacking because of my weird work schedule - but I did put the lighter stuff at day's end to see how it goes! Thanks for the suggestion!

Eff that scale! Of COURSE you lost some weight, girl. And yes, if you want some nose bling, then you GET IT. You don't strike me as the kind of woman who gives a sh*t if she's stared at while in line in the grocery store by some busybody in front of her trying not to get caught reading the National Enquirer while she looks askance at your tasteful little nose stud. Hah!

I haven't stopped in to see you in a long while. So sorry about that fact. Cute observation about your not wanting your new haircut to blow in the wind. You are doing great and I admire your perserverance! Keep up the great work!
