What can I say? I am your average 30 something...I am married (5 years now) and have 2 yellow labs, my "kids". I use to work in the restaurant industry, and was able to work out all the time because of the flexibility of my job. I've always been pretty active, in shape, and able to eat whatever I want. Fast forward to today and it is a different story. I sit at a desk all day and have become so inactive (and fat!) that I have to watch everything I eat...no fun at all! I have gained almost 30 pounds since I got married and switched careers. I am here at fat secret to try and figure this out once and for all!

Whoa! Time for an update!!! I'm now your average 40 something...married almost 11 years now! I work in the restaurant industry again which is great for a flexible schedule but is horrible for eating on a normal schedule! I am still over 30 pounds heavier than when I got married and feel as determined as ever to get rid of that extra weight!!!

Help! Can't sync my Android!
I have a EVO phone and have installed the calorie counter app, but when I try to sync it to my online account, it says that there is a member name or password mismatch. I have double checked my info. and it still won't let me sync. Crying or Very sad Any suggestions?

Channing, I too suffer from GERD and know how challenging and painful it can be. You must go to a doctor or things will only get worse! Treatment is actually very simple and alot of your symptoms can be managed through diet and lifestyle changes. Although it is not much fun, try to avoid: fried or fatty foods, citrus, tomato & tomato based foods, soda, chocolate, caffine, spicy food, and alcohol. These are all common triggers of heartburn! Try not to eat within 3 hours of going to bed. I have found that when I eat better my GERD isn't so bad, and bonus, I usually end up losing a few pounds...which also is good for people with GERD. Losing even a couple of pounds can ease the pressure on your stomach. Once again, please go see your doctor...vomiting is not normal with GERD and if not treated properly you may be facing much more serious conditions. Hypoglycemia anyone?
If you have hyperglycemia, please talk to your doctor and make sure you are on the right kind of diet! I too have experienced shaking, light head, and cold sweat (so scary!), but have never been diagnosed as hyperglycemia (still trying to figure that one out!). I find that if I eat three meals and two to three small snacks a day (eating every 3 - 4 hours) I don't have these episodes any more. Not to sound cliche, but everything in moderation is key. So you blew your carbs one day...so what?! Get back in line the next meal. Just make sure you are taking care of yourself properly! Don't beat yourself up, you can do this and will make progress every day!!
