Prayer Requests

1.I am in need of prayers because I am having problems with vomiting Every single Night
2. I am in need of prayers because I am not feeling good because I am morbidly Obese and I have a Very Severe Case of GERD (Also Known as Heartburn or ACID Reflux)
3. I am in need of prayers because my stomach moves up into my Chest During Vomiting because it moves up in my chest and hurts me and I have been crying over this
4. I am in need of prayers because god does not Care about me to help me with getting the issue about my stomach moving up into my chest fixed.
5. I am in need of prayers because I could use a Support Friend/Pen Pal that Can answer Questions I have about GERD(Heartburn or ACID Reflux) And can also answer short letters with questions like for example:
1. Do you have any pets?
2. Do you like music?
3. What type of music do you like?

If you can pray for me and be a support friend/pen pal please message me and ask me for my email address

You will have my prayers. Most certainly. But for you're acid reflux and vomiting, please see a doctor. None of us at FS can help you through that. You need support for losing weight, this is the place.

Have you checked out the before and after pictures. On the right hand panel, click the Look at Me entry and see what others have done. You need hope that you can be healthy and the before/after pics will show you that it is indeed possible. You can get through this. But, please, get to a doctor NOW.

I second what Justme65 wrote. Pan Pal is not the right place to ask for a health check. But you're definitely in the right place for weight loss support. As well as motivation!

The first person who should be in love with you is yourself, no matter how imperfect.

Praying for you...Please let us know what your doctor says. It sounds like a terrible situation but you CAN make it through this and you will feel better as the weight starts to come off. Many of us here are living proof of that. Trust God for help. He will never give you more than you can handle. I CAN do ALL things, through Christ, who gives me strength. Remember that verse.

my prayers are added to the others although I would like to add one thing..... Gratitude goes a long way and it may be true that you feel God doesn't care about you, but if you take the time to sit down and realize all the things that are good in your life I'm sure you will see that God does care very much ! My granfather used to tell me, " If you wake up breathing in the morning you had the hardest part of the day whipped. What you chose to do with the rest of your day was up to you !!!! God bless and good luck

God is there every step of the way, god provides all the answers to those that seek. First you gotta choose it, what do you choose? Do you listen to what he's whispering in your ear, but ignore it? a thought that just entered your head and not acted upon it. Ask and you will be given god never says no, Ask god to direct your steps to your goal, ask for the right people who can help you on your journey to enter into your life. You have to act upon your desire, those that dont act upon it never wanted it, so hunnie what signal are you sending to god.

You heard of the law of attraction? The books called the secret. Helps me all the time, but I have to act to cause an effect. I knew there was a way a woman could diet and enjoy her life without being miserable, I use to teach WW and use the protocol for many years but truth, i want to eat the way i wanna eat be slim and happy. I knew it was there! Having faith a small as a mustard seed can move mountains, and i wasnt gonna stop till I found it coz I knew it was there I just had to find it. Leave no stone unturned. Woohoo I found it I BLOODY KNEW IT lol Atkins all the way lol free vodka and you know what I got my prayers answered. Ask the right questions give god a question to answer, be specific x x x

Normally I don't mind people expressing their belief in a God that lets 16,000 children die of hunger every day, but in this case the God believers should please stop.

Prayer does NOT work. That's a fact, and it's been researched over and over. The law of attraction doesn't work - happy people who never think about accidents still have accidents; how did they attract them?

What Channing need is not prayer, but medical attention. Please don't encourage her that "God is always with you". There is no God, and if she keeps believing and praying instead of seeing a doctor, you might end up having a horrible sickness or even death on your conscience.

God helps those who help themselves. You are in my prayers, but you must provide the action. He can only guide you, he can not take you by the hand.
I would also direct you to your local church for more prayer and support.

Channing, please see a doctor. You should not be vomiting every night, and your stomach should not be going anywhere. I think you know this. That being said, you are in my prayers, and I will submit you to the prayer list at the temple. (I am LDS).

Prayers DO work; there IS a God, and He loves you dearly, but you must make the effort to seek out medical professionals. Heavenly Father has given them the knowledge and expertise to be able to help you.

Please do not waste any more time with getting this checked out.

You need medical attention, and fast. Deal with the physical problems first as a major priority. Once you are being treated for the reflux etc you will be in a much better physical and emotional state to tackle the spiritual pain and the overwhelming food issues.

I once weighed 300 pounds. I felt despairing at times, just like you do now. I managed over time and with effort and commitment to lose the weight. I thank God I was able to.

The benevolent Universe will help you. Call on Archangel Michael in particular to protect you from further harm. Ask for help, humble yourself and say, I am beat, I cannot do this any longer, I have had enough, please give me healing.

And see a doctor as soon as possible. Right now a diet is way down the list of priorities.

Brightest blessings x

I don't believe in prayer, so I can't help you there.

I can help you with medical advice, though-- go see a doctor! This is not normal, and it's not good. Likely your doctor will put you on some sort of acid reducer.

Also, find some way to sleep in a more upright position. Supporting yourself with pillows can work. Some people report success with putting books or bricks under the legs at the head of their bed.

But really, what you need right now is medical science, not superstition. See a medical professional. If it's bad enough that you're vomiting every night then you really need to get medical help NOW.

Channing, I too suffer from GERD and know how challenging and painful it can be. You must go to a doctor or things will only get worse! Treatment is actually very simple and alot of your symptoms can be managed through diet and lifestyle changes. Although it is not much fun, try to avoid: fried or fatty foods, citrus, tomato & tomato based foods, soda, chocolate, caffine, spicy food, and alcohol. These are all common triggers of heartburn! Try not to eat within 3 hours of going to bed. I have found that when I eat better my GERD isn't so bad, and bonus, I usually end up losing a few pounds...which also is good for people with GERD. Losing even a couple of pounds can ease the pressure on your stomach. Once again, please go see your doctor...vomiting is not normal with GERD and if not treated properly you may be facing much more serious conditions. We are all here to support you with your weight loss journey...don't ever give up...keep reaching out! Take care!

I can only say that I will keep you in my prayers. You must trust in the Lord and believe what HE said, that if you make one step He would make two. You've already made the fiirst step by asking for your friends here at FatSecret to pray with, and for you. Your next step is for you to see a doctor - you could die if you don't get medical help. After this you need to realize that you have to go on a diet and then decide which diet is for you - you're on the right site to research the different diets. Then, believe in yourself that you can do this and keep a detailed report of everything you put in your mouth, and do your weighins. You have a lot of people behind you, but the first one is GOD, yourself, the doctor and your friends here. I'll keep you in my prayers - but, YOU'VE GOT TO BELIEVE IN YOURSELF.

Channing, I suspect you may be going through some emotional times with the ups & downs of weight fluctuation. Sometimes this comes with berating ourselves for not doing what we think we "should" do. After you have sought medical advice, you (as would many of us) would benefit from learning to love yourself. It is good to reach out & learn what others may say which may ring true with you. May I recommend a book for you to check out from your local library or purchase on Amazon? Louise Hay, You Can Heal Your Life. This has some basic information for you to start healing yourself from the inside out. If this information in the book resonates with you, please acquire the "Companion Book" to You Can Heal Your Life also by Louise Hay. She healed herself from vaginal cancer & has help thousands of others see why changing your thoughts about yourself & the environment around you, can change your life. I'm a nurse and I suggest this book to many of my patients/clients. It cannot hurt you, yet only help you - if the information seems right to YOU. Only you will know what is right for you.
Love & peace to you.

I saw this post on another buddies posts; I am a nurse as well as LDS, prayers are very important but I have seen a lot of people post stuff regarding GERD but it sounds more like Gallbladder issues to me. I had suffered these same types of symptoms. I would have such awful pain that I would vomit every night then by around 5 or 6 in the morning the vomiting and pain would stop. It is caused by a a gallstone blocking the duct when the gallbladder is trying to send bile after a meal with a lot of fatty foods. People who are overweight are at higher risk for gallbladder problems. You need to see a doctor and probably have it removed. Prayers to you my friend, please get it checked out by a doctor. It can be diagnosed with an ultrasound.

You've gotten lots of good responses. Please let me summarize the most important point:

If you'd also like to make mental offerings to the deity of your choice then that's all well and good, but do not let it get in the way of seeing a medical professional soon. Don't wait, and absolutely do not convince yourself that your deity will do the job.
