Debbie Cousins's Journal, 12 April 2019

My weight was almost UP for the final weigh-in this morning, but I know the reason -- I haven't had a decent bowel movement in 4 days, despite getting in plenty of fiber and drinking plenty of water. I MIGHT have to rethink this fruit thing, if the weight continues to stay above 174. I want to be going DOWN, not up! I'm enjoying the fruit - but I enjoy losing weight MORE!

Phillips laxative tablets - pure Mg+ pulls water into colon or Nature's Calm again Mg+. But I must say, the above comments are terrific. Also Vitamin C, powdered form provides 5000g in 1 tsp - mixed with cold bottle of H20 can get things moving, again water into colon -

I know that awful feeling! especially when I started low carb eating. A few friends recommended a supplement of Magnesium Oxide. I take 3- 5 capsules a night before bed. it helps relax you for a good sleep, and lets muscles relax. In the morning, there is usually a bm :) Just make sure you adjust to what works for you though. Also laying on your left side promotes good digestion and should help as well.

2 VitaFusion Sugar-free Fiber gummiess has 5g Fiber, 2 net carbs, and 10 calories, @DaniB88. I take them sometimes when I'm close to my 20g, but not quite there.

D-it might not be the fruit that has you plugged up. Fruit has a very high water content. It could be the keto buns, crackers and breads you added around the same time. I would continue with the fruit and veg and cut back some on the keto breads and crackers. Or, cut one or other out for a week and see what happens. Then the next week do,the reverse......good luck!

I can’t believe nobody mentioned just to use a simple suppository when you can’t seem to go. It definitely gets the ball rolling. And my GI doctor told me it was safe if I used it for the rest of my life for my IBS.

Thx, when I used to eat terrible foods, I would go VERY regularly - almost after every meal. I used to get diarrhea a lot, too, though. This morning, I FINALLY had a good BM - so good, in fact, that it took all the self-restraint I had to not take a picture of it! I didn't want to start an onslaught of poop pix that I'd have to look at each day! I WILL say (since you ALREADY have TMI) that it was 18-20" long! Tomorrow's weigh-in should be better. I've been debating about whether to lay off the fruit for awhile, and just go back to full Keto. I still haven't made up my mind. I might try your idea, @gogogirl59. I DO want to start making at least SOME of my "Five Fruits & Vegetables" actually be VEGETABLES. I'm just LOVING so much this giant fruit bowl I've made. Thanks for all the responses. Y'all are the best!

Definitely add vegetables in place of some of the fruit. If you are not into vegetables, you can combine the two into a smoothie, along with some avocado, which you love.

I have found that insoluble fiber is not my friend. Backs me up for days. Simple suppositories give me horrible cramps because of my ibs. miralax is great if u can stand it.
