59Carol's Journal, 09 December 2018

So here is the week weigh in and only a half pound down. During this week on average I ate the least calories since September 1 and had a very modest loss. I did have a big loss last week so that can be affecting it as well. I averaged 1170 calories this week. The two best weeks I averaged 1298 calories and 1345 calories so I am thinking I will aim for 1300 calories this week. I know if I eat too little it doesn't work so here is to the fine line! The big picture is that I am losing 1.2 pounds a week over 15 weeks and I am down 21 pounds since my highest right before I joined Fat Secret. I can't lose sight of the overall success by concentrating on a short period of time. The trend is good.
250.5 lb Lost so far: 18.0 lb.    Still to go: 80.5 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

All about the trend

Especially since you don't weigh every day any more, you have no idea if you're retaining water for any reason or not. When my weight shot up after a massage last week, it was obvious that I was dealing with water, but had I not weighed myself until the end of that week, I'd have been really disappointed with my .4 loss. So you have to go with averages over months, since your once weekly could be thrown off for various reasons.

Thanks LZenn. I am telling myself that it was working and therefore it is likely still working. I do find that by weighing myself once a week I am more relaxed about it. I don't mean relaxed by fudging the numbers, I mean anxiety right before the weigh in. Having that feeling once a week is nicer than 7 times a week! :) You are right, though, the peaks and valleys that I get on a daily basis doesn't mean that I won't hit it 'wrong' on the day I do weigh. Here's to next week!
