Day 2 of a planned 5 day 'no solid food' fast
Blood sugar 81 mg/dL

👍🏾 So glad I am back on 'no solid food'. There were sooo many opportunities to eat yesterday but I said no to all of them. The funny thing is that I am not hungry. After consuming 7k in calories over the past 3 days alone how-can-a-person-be-hungry? Maybe some active person in their 20’s can burn through that much fuel, but, my 50 year old body simply cannot find a use for all that, and will pack it away as fat… to be used as fuel when needed. Either way, no-one-is-going-to-starve 😊

So when I "want to eat" I am just bored. I was busy yesterday and that helped 'reduce' the periods of boredom, but, not eliminate them. When they came I had a 🥛 protein drink in hot water (they taste better with heavy cream, but that triggers hunger in me).

I started the day off with 🏃🏾 a run. I REALLY enjoy running first thing in the morning. No better way to start the day. Today is a 🏋🏾 lifting day so no running. Running on a lifting day saps my strength and I am going to try to get through my sets at 200 lbs… and that is a lot of weight… on my shoulder… doing squats… 😊

so cream is a trigger for you and not the protein?? so no cream today?? that is interesting.

@baskington - I had cream in my protein coffee this morning (didn't need it, just 'enjoyed' it) and I will have cream in my protein shake before and after my workout this evening. But, having any cream during the day appears to 'trigger hunger'. Yesterday, with only Green Tea and Protein in water only I seemed to do ok :) - - I really only need to drink Green Tea during the day. I'm just being a baby... :)

@chesgreen - Ha! Only time I am in #BeastMode when I get under the bar, push up, and step away from the stand, take a deep breath and begin to squat... :) - - Otherwise I am a 'wuss' with no willpower Haha

totally agree about eating when bored - glad you kept busy - good luck with those new weights - 200 pounds is a lot! Have a great non-food day!!

I want to do a 36 hour fasting at least once in my life, but I am hungry at my 24 hours, I have been thinking to do it like you 😁

@Keilin_4 - Slight problem with 'actual fasting', you really can't go more than a day or so if you do not have enough body fat. This is why I am not really 'fasting' but just 'not eating solid food' :) I take in about 1k calories a day, hardly a 'true fast' :)

@nikeit - I forgot to mention, 'feeling sorry for myself' is another bad reason to eat :)

You are doing great! You have some wiggle room. I’ve been eating so so much lately 😓😫 I know I need to fast but my work’s break room is so full of food (all tasty junk foods including 3 kinds of cookies and ice cream for God’s sake!!) I just can’t gather enough strength to say NO! Side note: the thought of something on my back while I squat makes me want to cry js

@CrashtestDawnie - My squats today KILLED me. So, I feel your pain from yesterday, but, they are soooo good! :) - - I feel you on the 'food in the break room'. Yeah committing to 'no solid food' is the only way I can 'control' my eating. I don't know how you can just 'eat' and then stop. Basically for the rest of my life I have to only eat certain days...

@jenjabba - Thanks! But, I am sooo annoyed I gained 4 pounds in the past 3 days! Seriously! Really?? I needed to do that? Why? (Sigh) So this weekend I have to go low carb so I don't gain back any loses during the week.

I enjoyed bulking for 2 weeks, but it has its own mental drawbacks for me. I feel stronger and more secure eating at a 1300 range vs 2000. Good for you 👏🏻
