Starting Vacation today - off till August 27th - HAPPY, HAPPY, HAPPY!

August challenges I foresee
#1 celebrating son's 35th birthday with a wine tour and dinner out - this Saturday - I've volunteered to be DD - this should help. Also planning to preview the menu where we have dinner reservations to pre-plan my meal.
#2 husbands 60th birthday - there will be 3 celebrations - 2 at home, one out - I think... not entirely finished planning...
#3 visiting our son & family out west for a week - we'll be staying in a hotel (lots of challenges), mostly eating in restaurants (unfamiliar ones), and attending a family reunion on our future daughter-in-law's side - we've never met any of her family and won't want to insult anyone...
Hotel has an exercise room that I will use. The hotel room will have a keurig, a fridge and microwave so we'll definitely pick up a few things when we get there.... I'm planning to take MCT Oil powder, a hand frother, a week's worth of homemade all seed crackers, some almond butter, measuring spoon, mio for flavoured water... Other KETO friendly ideas welcome. They live in a small town in British Columbia - some chain restaurants, but a lot of independent mom & pop style ones too - planning on making lots of requests for sauces on the sides - no sugars, substitutes please, and being vigilant. Would love any suggestions - what's worked for you ?

eating pure meat and pure veggies is always a safe bet. you can always take your own salad dressing for salads. make up fat bombs to keep in the cooler inbetween staying in a hotel. usually sautéed veggies are safe, you can ask if they add anything besides the oil or butter. breakfast plain eggs are generally safe, a lot of places put things into their egg batter. IHOP definitely does. that is another thing you have to ask about when you eat out. You may end up accidently having carbs on a longer trip, you just have to do the best you can and try not to freak out.

Thanks @baskington @MrsMagyk I'm not sure how well a cooler will work - we'll be travelling about 12 hours - on three separate flights to get there. I've never taken ice packs on a plane but there's a first for everything...
