wannabhealthier's Journal, 25 April 2018

good Wednesday morning just waking up just got done with my meditation.... using my meditation to help ease the pain in my right shoulder as when I woke up it was hurting quite a bit and now not at all... yes I have pain meds that I can take but if I can get it to quit by just listening to meditations and I can save it so when I really need it...

today's meditation was the short body scan which I try to listen to from time to time along with many others... I find that listening to the meditations throughout the day helps calm my mind and keeps me from thinking about what if...

yesterday's first trip to therapy what's an evaluation to see how my left shoulder and right shoulder compared.... and also to see what kind of movement I had or how far I get stretch my arm out.. just moving my right arm close to my body is pretty good however holding it out in front of me or moving it to the side it's like dead weigh.. I had four weeks therapy before they decide what's next....

no therapy today just home exercises my plan today needs to get dressed in a little bit and get on my trainer and try to do this my morning ride.. get my endorphins running wild...

at the moment not sure what the rest of the day brings but plan on doing or moving as much as I can and try to move my right arm as well..

another 60 degree day seems to be more of them coming my way..

I want to thank everyone for your support it does mean a lot at this time and always..

have a great day everyone and thanks for stopping by

When I had X-rays the doctor didn't see any tears and so he doesn't know if it was rotator cup or not right now we're trying to see if we can get any movement out of it before we go that way

Well done for listening to your body and taking a rest! No point in pushing it. You need days to heal. Hope you've been able to get out in the fresh air today 🙂

I have a torn rotator cuff too. I went through the physical therapy but it didn't help - just got worse. You will have to get an MRI if you want to be sure about it. Don't let them push you off getting one of those if the pain doesn't subside.

Really and truly I don't have a lot of pain unless I do a lot of moving around and try to use my right arm in ways that I used to use it as long as I don't get carried away in trying to move it in ways that I know I can't and I'm not in pain I mean I've done really good I'm not taking the pain pills they gave me because I'm thinking sooner or later I'm going to need them worse

I like those body scan meditations. They’ve been very helpful. 🙋🏻

Glen have you considered orthopedic surgery. I realize for someone who is not retired this would challenging as far as being off from work. When mother was alive she had one shoulder done, it was painful, and you have pain pills and then therapy afterwords. But you down Atleast 6-8 weeks depending on age and circumstances until 100% healed and rehabilitation.
