baskington's Journal, 03 December 2018

I have not been posting my journal as I have really not been feeling well. ever since my episode with the chicken bone broth set my allergies aflame, my calves tightening up more and my other symptoms of itchy eyes etc set off every time I eat, even within my woe. to combat the calf problem I have been drinking coffee to offset the calf tightening (weird that it works) and set off my brain fog worst.

needless to say my body has been in inflammation mode and I have gained about 2.5 of fat! Really tired of testing things and paying for it. I have pretty much been back on my beef and beef fat the majority of the time. I had a more normal meal yesterday with the pan taco. not too bad on the legs. I enjoyed the hot sauce!

Today I decided since I was not really my normal starving self to see how long I could go without eating. and to test eating just fat to see how my calves and other symptoms reacted. My calves tightened up slowly but not as tight as when I have my normal high fat high protein steak. But my eyes got worst and still bother me an hour later.

Tonight I will test the steak and see how a slighter amount of fat does with the steak. I was way under my calories yesterday so eating close to my maintainance or below a little won't hurt with the excess fat gain. my glucose levels have been much lower today.

I feel better today then I have for a while until I ate. too bad I can't just fast all the time!

thanks Keilin, I am guessing it will eventually have to get better. seeing the doctor again pretty soon so maybe there will be something else we can test and find some answers before the new insurance year starts again.

Sorry to hear about your discomfort. How long did you go without eating?

Oh Baskington - I'm so sorry to hear that you are right back to having such a bad time - it seems like once you set things off they are extraordinarily hard to get back under control. I am sending my best thoughts in hope you get the relief you deserve - hang in there and take good care of yourself!

just until noon Adef, that is about as long as I can go, when my glucose drops to much and I don't feel well and have to eat. I just did the fat which lasted until almost 5;30 when I was cooking for both of us. I could probably do the fat fast longer term but I would definitely be over the 500 calorie limit. I can't stress my body from going low calorie. been there done that!

thanks Nikeit, they are a lot better than when I was stuck in bed with the heat packs. Just got to be patient to get back to where I was.

You really have it tough with the allergies. It sure is making everything that is already hard harder. Take care of yourself!

I use turmeric & ginger powder for a powerful anti inflammatory and pain relief. It really works. hope you're not allergic to them. They are both good for a lot of other things also. I use 10g of each in hot water with lemon juice added.

Check woth your doctor first but a friend of my drank 4ozs of tonic water each nite for the calf cramps. I think it was the quinine in the water.

Food allergies are the worst! I currently have been doing the elimination diet to figure out what was causing stomach issues and turns out it was dairy products! When I was at my worst (and doing patch testing to figure a lot out) I did a detox bath 3x a week and it did wonders. 1 tub of as warm as you can tolerate it water, 1 cup of apple cider vinegar, 1 cup of plain Epsom salt, and 2 Tbsp of ground ginger. You mix it up in the tub and take a nice long soak. Make sure to keep plenty of water next to the tub while you’re soaking so you don’t dehydrate because you will sweat a lot. I hope you’re not allergic to any of the ingredients and it helps.
