Oh we'll learn, eventually /s .CICO is as sure as the Earth is round. If you can't handle certain foods because they cause you to over consume calories avoid them. I'm closing in on 40 and have been into fitness and nutrition since age 19 but I guess I still have something to learn from Marx. Disregard metabolic Ward studies because of a one man's anecdote. 👍

I watch Leave it to Beaver and have yet to see or hear any studies his father has performed. On a lighter note....

I think at this point, I need to be grateful for each person responding here today. I forgot, completely forgot, I had a chocolate covered donut yesterday at about 7 AM. Thank you, makes my MACROS a little more skewered toward carbs but somehow I shall survive. Persevere. Move onward and upward.....

it is not all about cravings, it is the bodies response to the offending foods, inflammation from eating them. And many may never have this problem so enjoy your style of eating. Just understand that many people do have this inflammation from different types of foods and they can't eat like you. this is all any one can ask, stop belittling others for issues they have no control over unless they stop eating them.

Somebody mentioned the 'c' word. So someday I will actually post some cauliflower tots, how long they take, and all the fun working with cauliflower. There is some trial and error, they taste good, but they take time. Patience. I need to re-learn how I make those successfully. I know a 45 plate is involved. Okay, back to your regular programming....

Imflammation does not equal fat gain so I don't see how it is relevant. Don't eat foods that cause pain? Simple.

He is the one who said we would learn eventually. So maybe talk about him too? Also, my first post on it was referring to someone suggesting I have cauliflower crust on my journal...

@Diablo - Yup, that's what I do. I still eat those foods, just not as often. I know exactly what to expect when I do and so when I make the decision to eat them anyway, I do it knowing the consequences. 👍

inflammation interfers with the bodies natural order which makes it malfunction. I don't think you can say that interference does not cause the body to not lose weight. too many people stall or gain weight by eating things that causes problems. you may not notice it here, but plenty of people find this fact to be true and report it. wheat is a big one that can cause bloat and problems, dairy is another. these things are real for many. It does not have to cause pain, it can interfer just fine without that too on some things. If the body is struggling with inflammation it certainly is not in fat burning mode. And Diablo I don't wish body metabolism change on anyone. But many people have to deal with this as they hit different life cycles. mine hit in the late 30's to early 40's.

So inflammation causes a body to quit burning calories? Why have exactly zero studies proven this? We can agree to disagree. That would be amazing for old starving people in 3rd world countries to know.

And spreading horrible lies about carbs does not make you cool liv001

I did not say it stopped a body burning calories, I said it interfers in the bodys function and anything the short circuits the system can and does effect weight loss or gain. There are no lies, different people have different needs and food sensitivities. It is a fact and it is a growing problem. More people every decade with diabetes, more folks with allergies. You don't believe this has anything to do with our food?? Just because you don't have the problem does not make true.

You have zero science to back your claims. Fat loss does not stop. If so, there would be some evidence after hundreds if not thousands of studies. A calorie deficit works every time. You can keep believing it though.

And there are more and more people afflicted with ailments because there are more and more obese people every year. It's the convenient calorie dense food but the lack of movement which grows with modern conveniences is also the reason. It's that combo plus lack of knowledge that is making it an epidemic.
