Katsolo's Journal, 09 October 2018

Yesterday was a rough one. A phone call first thing in the morning about a friend who passed away in a terrible, tragic accident. Still at a loss for both words and feelings although I connected with a mutual friend and we've been sharing happy memories. Live big, be happy folks, because it might all disappear in a heartbeat. I am so thankful that our last words to one another were good and positive.

The good news is that I've held the 153 despite some personal challenges of my own. Been hard to get the walks in, even tonight, I don't know if I'll manage to get to class as I have a late afternoon conflict in the way. Life happens though and I can't let it get to me. I am so grateful that I have taken the time and effort to get back on a positive path for a happy and healthy life.

Three people close to me have been affected by falls in the past two weeks. Mom fell and cracked her pelvis. BF fell and fractured his arm and finally, my friend fell down the stairs in her home and it ended up being a fatal accident. Please, please, please be careful everyone and hug your loved ones. It's just a strange coincidence, perhaps, but there is a hidden message I'm sure.

Finally, even if you hate the camera, smile and share your inner joy with others. You just can't know when you or they may be taken away.

Your strength inspires me. I'm marrying my son off on Sunday then burying his childhood friend on Monday. The sudden losses are the hardest. Keep your chin up and thank you for sharing.

I'm thankful for the good wishes here, and I'm very happy to report that a ton of people at work responded to her manager's email. So one family replaces another and there are a lot of people that will miss her despite the solitary circumstances of her accident. She was a quiet soul, but people cared for her. That's what matters.

@Alnona, you can got through it, but recognize the toll it takes emotionally and take some time for yourself after. I made time and swam today. Nothing leisurely or relaxed, but some alone non-thinking time. It helped.
