Proudmomma412's Journal, 22 May 2018

Now that things are starting to calm down it's time to refocus on me. I'm going to quit smoking for good this time and I will not overeat. The last time I kept caving in, I will not do it this time. If it feels like it's going to be too much, I'll work out

Also, pain is weakness leaving the body. Changing habits can be painful.

You'll do it, no doubt in my mind. Just never do it again. Message me if you feel tempted; I still have a half carton over thirty-five years old.

quitting smoking was one of the hardest things I have ever done! My son asked me one day why did I want to die... I told him that wasn't true, just a bad habit... blah, blah, blah... sometime later (still smoking) he asked - mom, if you don't care if it makes you sick don't you care if we get sick. Thinking about his serious little face, I cried when going to sleep... I woke up threw my cigarettes away and told them - that's it mommy doesn't smoke anymore! The first month was torture for all of us, I was MISERABLE. The second month, less hellish but not great... my sense of taste and smell were improving... and so forth getting a little better all the time but if I'm being honest there are still days I want a f*****g cigarette and it has been 22 years! You can do this!

Wow what a hard battle to fight. I wish everyone luck! I agree with "Weakness is a choice" but dang it doesn't seem like it when you are in the midst of a craving. I wish all of you luck at quitting that habit.
