When I was young, I could not tell the difference between fit and fat. I was a big kid, but it wasn't all fat. "Large bones" may be a misnomer since bones weigh so little, so I now use "widely spaced" and "large muscles" instead. Fifty years of dieting, however, packed on the fat, so I have a lot to lose. Diabetes, heart disease, and now cancer have resulted from frustration with the bad dieting advice I received from the Federal Government.

A new wave of nutritional science has been published by concerned doctors, so now I am losing fat and gaining muscle. Check out the doctors and researchers at DietDoctor.com and at IDMprogram.com. Calories count, but you don't have to count them when you eat the right foods. When you adapt yourself to eating the nutritious food you need, then you reach your correct weight, disease-free. I am working towards health.

So, I fast because it works. Dr. Jason Fung has a lot to say about fasting, and I have his book. I also follow him on Facebook, You Tube, and on his website: https://idmprogram.com/. I had trouble with the water fast, so I went to a fasting mimicking program. I have a lot of loose skin that needs to go! In more than one place, Dr. Fung stated that fat does nothing to mTOR, and carbs below 5g/day and proteins below 20g/day will cause the body to recycle old proteins, such as excess skin and cancer cells, into new healthy cells. This explains my dietary choices. Remember! Natural, grass-fed, free-range, pastured, and GMO-free are the better choices for nutrition! Do what you can afford, and fasting is free.

what is your goal weight, 5'3 and 5'4 ladies?
My goal weight is your current weight! This is based on my frame, which includes my bone structure and the amount of muscle I have. This is something that most people have to have measured. A simple test is to take your thumb and middle finger, and wrap them around over the wrist bone of the opposite hand. If your thumb and middle finger meet, you are average. If they overlap, you have a small frame. If they do not meet, you have a large frame. There was almost an inch gap when I did this. My husband was tiny, so I have a daughter whose fingers overlap to the first joint. She is at her correct weight at a mere one hundred pounds. If you are average, your goals are good.
