How long have you been working to get from somewhere above 330 to 245?

@ psalpesh ... five tips? I haven't done anything that is revolutionary or done any special diet. I have just burned more calories than I have consumed. It has taken will and determination. But since you asked, let me see...
1. Exercise. Walking has become something I enjoy. As I have lost weight other physical activities have become more enjoyable as well. I now spend my weekends reclaiming a yard that I was unable to work in for like 10 years. It is hard but rewarding work.
2. Smart Choices. I love me some sweets. But there are other things that are sweet besides cake and candy. When I have the calories to spare I treat myself to a cup of vanilla "light and fit" yogurt mixed with 2 tablespoons of peanut butter, or some honey, or granola. Yummy. (And I detested yogurt six months ago)
3. Denial will kill you. I still have the occasional pizza, burger, etc. And beer! Difference now is that I budget t hem into my daily intake. When I know I am going to have those I exercise more and/or cut back on other meals to stay within my caloric budget. This keeps me from going cat crap crazy and blowing everything to hell in a moment of weakness.
4. Competition. Getting a fitbit was a great decision. Especially since a lot of my friends have them and we compete like crazy against each other. Currently on a 17 day streak of hitting 10K steps. Trying to beat Tom's record of 32 straight days!
5. Support. It has been a big help that the people around me from co-workers to family know what I am trying to do and support me as well as my friends here. Without support, I would have failed this time like I have so many times in the past. So Thanks to everyone here for your kinds words, for your stories of inspiration, and for being there for me. I could not have done this without help!

@ MightyFull. In December I stepped on a shipping scale at work and it read "EEE" I asked what the scale went up to. No one knew, but they have weighed packages of 330 lbs without issues. It was then I made the decision to "get healthy in 2017" and began cutting back. In Late January I went to the doctor for my annual physical and the scale read 325. I was proud of myself, but when the test results came back, it was anything but good. In sort the doctor told me if I didn't lose at least 50 lbs I would not reach my 50th birthday. WAKE . UP. CALL! It was then I began to take this seriously. "Someday" I will lose weight became "today".

Yay,yay, yay!!! What would that doctor say to you now? And remember when you thought you were cheating losing weight because the medication you were on? That much of a loss is NOT because of medication. YOU ROCK.

@gz9gjg - Are you saying I look nerdy? I have tried the rimless, half rim, and thin rims. I completely destroyed them. For some reason I am brutal on glasses. The "nerd" glasses are the only thing that hold up.
