Kenna Morton's Journal, 29 September 2021

I have a list of people who have Covid or who are on quarantine, who can’t get out to shop and whose friends and church people are just somehow not around, who need food— prepared food. This is my second batch of vegetable soup that I have made and distributed today. It takes very little to pull yourself away from your own problems and help someone else. We who have so much can try to help those who have less. A helpful treatment for depression.

It's amazing how helping someone else can always lift you up, regardless of how dark your situation may be.

I am so blessed. I have remained healthy, I have continued hiking and doing many of the things that have always been a part of my life. I have not been subject to the depression like so many others. Illness, Death, dying are a normal part of my world. I take the necessary precautions that I know are crucial to remaining healthy but I am not afraid. Without herd immunity I think we will all get this virus eventually. Just the way it is. Most will survive, many will not.

Is that vegetable beef? YOu could've thrown some alphabets in there too. Oh, and some barley. Yummy!!! Happy food! I got happy just looking at it! We will light a candle and pray for those on your list tonight that they recover Godspeed...Amen Also, you truly are blessed. Praise our Lord. Thanks be to God all ways. May God bless U.S. all. That's great of you. I only help one but it's on a regular basis: taking groceries and dinners to a friend who hasn't recovered from surgery and now had another one last week. A week ago Sunday I took her 6 bags and today another 3 bags plus 1 dinner homemade by me plus 1 of those that had all the ingredients. I couldn't go in today other than unbagging it all on her counter because she is now in Covid quarantine. She's 83 and in bad shape, which makes me grateful I can be up and out.

Excellent. Nice work. May I suggest a 10" 5 Gallon Aluminum pot from webstaurant.com? Fits on a normal buener/stove, is game changing for bulk soup and stock, and I picked mine up for around $25 with lid.
