Keto people ... what are you stocking up
I have not really stocked up on anything... I asked my husband and he said rice, pasta, and canned beans. Those are not my foods right now... I need keto items
My plan
Bacon and eggs usually last long in the fridge Butter... Cheap energy cream... usually lasts for weeks
Meats and fish for freezer... it is not Armageddon... we are keeping power and running water Some cured meats like salami and sausages for lasting long in fridge
Meat to make jerky?? I should check on this...
Canned tuna Mayo
Nuts
canned tomatoes (if they still are to be had)
Almond milks for the cupboard Hard cheese... It lasts for weeks Cottage cheese and yogurt... those usually last for awhile in the fridge (If I buy some powdered milk I can make my own out of the last bit of yogurt
Dark chocolate Berries for the freezer and a bag of frozen veggies ... maybe green beans Coffee Whey (but I stocked up on this last time Costco had it on sale so I am good)
Am I forgetting something?

I'm not keto, but I did stock up on eggs, almonds, wine and proteins a couple weeks ago. I'm going to stretch them by hitting my stash of dry goods. I bought liquid egg whites along with my eggs because they last forever compared to other proteins. I bought the 2 lb bag of spinach and I will be freezing half of that to make it last longer. Doing without fresh veggies will be the hardest, but I did it in India, so I can do it again. I also have some instant soup type stuff that is low carb from a friend so I have that as well. I just filter tap water with a Britta because I'm cheap.

interesting, i feel that i finally eat so much "fresh" food it's tricky to "stock up". nuts would be the obvious one. i will never go back to the standard pasta/rice/beans. and i'm down with fasting as needed. i'm good for month. my very fit husband does need fuel though. stay safe friends.

- to Ogyogle- I wouldn't trust delivery once the flue strikes home town. Stock up now. I have 4 turkeys in the freezer and going out for fish today. I don't know how long to be prepared for, but would imagine at least a month.

Frozen cauliflower rice, low-carb tortillas/pita/lavash, do avocados freeze? I am not keto, but i speak a smattering from my time here. 😁

Perfect timing - I was rolling this same question around in my head too because I don't want to have to resort to pasta staples either.

If you do chose delivery, heat it up in the microwave. Sanitizer the external containers it comes in with Lysol spray or 72% rubbing alcohol or lower. Wash hands after touching containers.

Avocados absolutely freeze. You want plastic touching all surfaces possible.

I love avocado but prefer it fresh over frozen. But..... I also have always been in the habit of freezing it on occasion. In fact, I just froze 6. What I do is slice them in half, remove the core and skin, dredge in lemon oil and freeze on a small tray in the freezer. When frozen I transfer to a zip lock bag. They are great to make avocado dip, smash on toast, make into a salad dressing, spread in a soft shell burrito. The texture does change some so if you are someone who normally always eats them sliced and fresh on a salad or a side plate it would be an adjustment.

Great ideas! I did grocery shopping early this morning. The store was well stocked. I think we got a lot of good stuff. For now I try to go with fresh... I got avocado and may have to freeze at some point. Fresh is better for sure but trying limit being out in the public

I don’t know where you live but in my area few of the afore mentioned items are available.

I am in canada. Still pretty good here. I am pretty well stocked for a bit now. Have been doing quick trips in to smaller neighbour stores for some fresh items and will again early Monday likely. We are advised to limit contact but there is no community spread where I live yet as far as we know yet. stronger regulations for those who returned from abroad though.

Great list! Like “crazycatchick” I’m from an area where storms meant extended outages. Now in a quake zone, so didn’t need to stock up on any more bottled water or TP. I did get a few things. Fats: oils, ghee, UHT heavy cream, tinned coconut cream. Spices: smoked hot paprika, dried chives, sumac, hot sauce, etc. More teas and tisanes. Parchment paper for baking; it spares elbow grease when washing up.

Parchment paper is so great. I agree. I do not live in an area where we had to stock up but I love saving money on deals so we are often very stocked up.
