Shopping day tomorrow with my mom and my daughter. We'll shop for Thanksgiving. I know... we all do it. My reason for posting is that I'm curious about what everyone is planning?

I plan because we host most holiday/birthday/celebrations at my house and I'm a foodie - love to cook, love to feed my family, love to try new things.

Some years, we cook a traditional Thanksgiving meal. Sometimes its East Coast (seafood: crabs, shrimp, oysters etc). We've even had the local steak house cater our dinner.

This year we decided to smoke a ham. Also, a seafood bake (shrimp, mussels, sausage, red potatoes), homemade macaroni & cheese, roasted brussels w/prosciutto & balsamic vinegar, deviled eggs.

What are you guys having?

Hubby's cousin invited us for Thanksgiving so we're not cooking this year. We're empty nesters for 3 years now so we just hang out with family or friends. Anyway...I'm sure you'll have a lovely TG dinner! 💞💞💞

How nice! No muss, no fuss. Although I know you enjoy your chef's hat. I love being an empty nester, btw. Yay us!!

It all sounds wonderful. My youngest son is cooking 5his year. he is a fanatic when it comes to the main meal. He basted, injects and does what ever to get that bird juicy. I love him to death. I just enjoy being with him and watching. So far he has done well on holidays

Your Thanksgiving meal sounds wonderful! This year, like the past 10, we are having prime rib, au jus, garlic mashed potatoes, creamed spinach, and baked mushrooms. My daughter will make a pumpkin/pecan dessert that is so rich and delicious it takes your breath away. We do this at lunch time, and then in the evening, we have a Mexican Turkey that my son in law's mother makes, rice, homemade tortillas and green salsa. It is a full day of food and football and most of all family!

This year, as in the recent past few years, hubby & I are joining my sister, her hubby & 2 daughters & their extended family on the daughters' sides. My oldest neice is hosting. We do the traditional turkey with all the sides....everyone contributing a dish or 2. In recent years it's been interesting cause a couple of family members have developed food allergies so have to steer clear of certain ingredients.

Going to my sister's, I'm making Cajun rice dressing, and maybe a fruit salad with ginger lime dressing. My sister will have lots of healthy food and maybe a turkey.

Everyone's plans sound delightful :) Thank you for the compliments! For as long as I've been an adult, I've opened my house to anyone who wants to join us for a day of thanks, so we have extra seats around the table ehemm Bella, Terra... come on over!!

Oh my goodness...seafood at Thanksgiving! Maybe I would be more excited about T-dinner if I had that seafood bake! I used to make oyster stuffing, but my roomie doesn't like oysters. This year we are eating at a restaurant (need to research what will be open). :) Maybe we'll go to a seafood place to keep up with y'all.

We recently added a turduckin to Thanksgiving. This will be our second year. We do a regular turkey and a ham. Traditional oyster stuffing with raw whole oysters before hand. Cranberry sauce, This will be year 2-3 of authentic cranberry sauce with orange zest, real cranberry’s. Cinnamon sticks, cloves. I always make my pecan pies. Sweet potatoes, .... just hoping for a happy Thanksgiving this year. ❤️

Our Thanksgiving this year will likely be anything but traditional. Our youngest daughter has very close friends from her college who are international students and are invited. We will make turkey and some "trimmings" but we will have potluck sides. If it is anything like last night, it will be a wonderful, beautiful time. Last night twenty of them were over... Leaving after 12! They represented 9 different countries. About half of them are Christian and half Muslim. I cook halal, which I will also do for Thanksgiving. What an amazing, loving time we had sharing stories, singing, dancing... Well they shared all kinds of dancing styles. I can't wait until Thanksgiving! 😁

Traditional family Thanksgiving at my Brothers. Turkey, Ham, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, Green Bean casserole, Dressing, Sage and oyster both. Cranberry sauce, and my Brother is a blue ribbon fair winning pie Maker! oh, I forgot the scalloped corn and deviled eggs, which I love just like Mom used to make. I was good last year, this year we will see lol. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!! My favorite Holiday :).

Just my hubby and I. We'll smoke pork ribs and do some traditional sides. Enough to have leftovers for a few days.

My husband is italian so we always have a pan of lasagne, made by my Sicilian mom inlaw, along with our tradional turkey meal. When I first met hubby I thought this was soo weird but now its the norm and soo delish!

Fruit bowls, whole nuts in shells all over the house. Platers of olives celery stuffed with cream cheese and olives. For dinner Turkey mashed potatoes, gravy, turnip which is my favorite, cranberry’s, stuffing, creamed onions, sweet potatoes baked in the oven. For desert home made apple, pumpkin, blueberry, lemon meringue pies and my mom Also makes a tomato soup cake. REMEMBERING YEARS PAST. My actual dinner will just be two of us so probably a burger. So sad but that is reality. The family is up north we are in Florida. Mom has been gone for 5 years now. When I did cook everyone fixed their plate and went to their rooms things will never be the same. I cherish the memories.
