I'm 44 years old, 5'5''. I'm married, and my boys are 11, 14, 17, so I no longer do much chasing around but instead I do a lot of chauffering around. I have a desk job and that doesn't help either. I've been struggling with my weight since I gained 50 lb on my first pregnancy. (!!)

Zumba!!
I have the 2004 and 2008 DVD sets, and I do at least 30 mins a day, usually 50 mins. It's by far (for me) the fastest way to burn calories. I can't run for long, and the ellipticals/etc. are so boring. Don't know what I'd do without Zumba!

FS and Stress
I just went through a very stressful week with one of my kids. Normally - this would mean gaining 5 lb or so and completely losing my good habits of food and exercise. Thanks to the habit of the food/exercise diary and weighing myself - I stopped myself after just a couple of days of this and managed to stay even throughout.

Thanks to FS for this excellent web site that makes it easy to do this. I have tried logging my food/exercise/weight in other ways, and this is the best.

Am I eating enough?
I looked at what some other people on FS are doing who have lost, and I noticed they're eating between 1100 and 1300. I moved from 1500 to @1300 and started losing fast.

diet talk
Good luck! I have doubled my weight loss rate since I joined, partly because the diet calendar keeps me on my toes! I log _everything_ I eat, even the small nibbles. (and they add up!)
