Hi everyone!

I recently joined fatsecret and I'm hoping that writing down everything I eat and do will help me keep my weight in check.

I am a big fan of the Zumba workouts. I just created a group simply called: Zumba! If you currently take a Zumba class, do it at home with a DVD or are simply curious to know about it; please join the group.

I look forward to hear about everyone's experiences with the Zumba workout.

Good for you! I don't do Zumba but have a friend that totally loves it! Does that count? Wink Maybe I'll look for a DVD to do it at home. Enjoy!

I started doing Zumba weekly at the gym about a month ago. It is awesome! The workout goes by so fast and it is so much fun. However, I still like to do cardio before the class and some weights after.

Javadali! I bought my DVD set on e-bay. It was much cheaper than buying it on the Zumba website.

I have the 2004 and 2008 DVD sets, and I do at least 30 mins a day, usually 50 mins. It's by far (for me) the fastest way to burn calories. I can't run for long, and the ellipticals/etc. are so boring. Don't know what I'd do without Zumba!

Hello! I am addicted to Zumba! It is such a great workout! I would like to try the video, but think I'll stick to the classes-its too much fun doing it with others!

There's a Zumba class at my gym. It sounds like a lot of fun but it's at a really unfortunate time for me... Hmmm.. maybe I'll rearrange my schedule.

Can someone please give a description of Zumba? I have been invited to a class but I wanted to know what to expect first.
Thank you,

It's so much fun! I tried it for the first time this week at the YMCA with a friend and it was a mix of salsa and merengue. It had latin sounds and it was much easier to do than I expected! It was a great workout and I had so much fun that I did not feel stupid catching on! I'm addicted now!! I'm going to catch all of the classes from now on!! I encourage you to try it!

I have been doing Zumba all summer. I was taking with one instructor, and just started with a different one about a month ago. The new instructor is awesome, since she incorporates all kinds of international music. She even does an 80s flashback warm up that has everything from Thriller to Footloose to Grease Lightning. I go weekly (I also take Bellydance classes).

I, too, joined a Zumba class at my local Y and I LOVE IT! Best/easiest 600 calories I've ever earned! I do it every Friday night, and once dd's volleyball season is over, I'll do it on Mondays too(she has volleyball practice at the SAME TIME, BOO!)
Definitely try it Ariel!
