Hi, my name is Fay and I live in Atlanta, GA. I'm a homemaker that loves to cook, garden, decorate and take care of my family. Having gone through menopause, sometimes it's hard to feel attractive. The hair is thinning, turninggray, and adding pounds is so easy since your metabolism takes a dive. But, I decided that the one thing I can have control over is my weight, with God's help. Yes, I love food and cooking, but have realized that my health is more important than my taste buds! You are what you eat! I had let myself gain about 17 lbs., which to some may not sound like much, but suddenly you have no clothes that fit! This summer I am challenging myself to regain my girlish figure, in a healthy way, to the glory of God! "I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength" I've started playing tennis and moving more! Got rid of processed food and eating real food that God gave us. FYI Just because man has come up with new good choices does not mean you need to put them in your body! Hippocrates (the Father of Medicine) said "Let your food be your medicine and your medicine be your food!" If you eat the right food, your body takes care of itself. God has given us amazing self healing bodies!

LENTILS
Lentils

Lentils are a bona fide belly flattener. "They're high in protein and soluble fiber, two nutrients that stabilize blood sugar levels," says Tanya Zuckerbrot, R.D., author of The F-Factor Diet (Putnam Adult). "Eating them helps prevent insulin spikes that cause your body to create excess fat, especially in the abdominal area."

OATS
Oats

"Oatmeal has the highest satiety ranking of any food!" "Unlike many other carbohydrates, oats—even the instant kind—digest slowly, so they have little impact on your blood sugar." All oats are healthful, but the steel-cut and rolled varieties (which are minimally processed) have up to 5 grams of fiber per serving, making them the most filling choice. Instant oats contain 3 to 4 grams per serving. To speed up prep time, I like to soak oats and cut up prunes over-night so they are ready to cook in the morning. Cook about 15 min. and then add dash of cinnamon and a few walnuts for crunch and healthy oil.

EGGS
Eggs

Dig in to eggs, yolks and all: They won't harm your heart, but they can help you trim inches. Women on a low-calorie diet who ate an egg with toast and jelly each morning lost twice as many pounds as those who had a bagel breakfast with the same number of calories but no eggs, a study from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge reports. "Egg protein is filling, so you eat less later in the day," says David Grotto, R.D., author of 101 Foods That Could Save Your Life (Bantam).
