Female in my 30's trying to lose a few(ok 20)pounds so I can look and feel great this summer and hopefully for life.

I tried to diet and excercise 3-4 days a week but I would only maintain or gain. I recently overheard someone talking about how much weight she lost on Atkins so I decided to try it.

I started on Wednesday March 18th and lost 6 pounds by Monday the 23rd. I am loving it and its not that bad. Im thinking maybe I ate too many carbs before.

Anyway here I am....Wish me luck :)

Is BMI Accurate
Just wanted to hear thoughts on BMI ranges. I get mixed reviews when searching the net. My BMI according to my height should be in the 24 range which would be about 140-150 pounds. Not in this lifetime. No offense but seeing my ribs isnt exactly the look I was going for. Then I look at another which says according to my build I would fall in another range which is closer to my goal anyway. I also read that the BMI ranges dont take into account body type. I would agree because if there are different builds (thin, medium, large) how can one set of numbers apply to all. Any thoughts?

Tired of meat, nuts, eggs and cheese
Does anyone have any ideas for snacks while on Atkins. Im tired of eating the same stuff and since I cant have the atkins bars anymore and I dont eat pork I need to find some other snack alternatives besides pork rinds before I go crazy.

Any ideas that wont stall me would be appreciated.

Not eating enough
That makes sense. Guess I have to get rid of my stash. They are addicting but I would rather get rid of the weight.

Not eating enough
I have really been trying to keep my calories low thinking that would help me lose more weight but I keep reading about how I could be putting my body into starvation mode and I don't want to do that either. Good grief I just can't win. Don't eat the atkins bars or you will stall, don't reduce your calories to much or you will stall. Sorry just venting...

I'm still not understanding the whole atkins bars make you stall logic. Is it that you have to watch your calories when you eat them or they just make you crave sweets? I mean I would rather eat an atkins bar when I want a snack versus a snickers or slice of cake.

Well regardless I'm not giving up til I reach my goal.
