In 2005, I decided I wanted to help others make positive changes towards improving their overall health and fitness. I obtained 4 National Certifications through the Cooper Institute. I initially began coaching part time at a local gym in Houston. Towards the end of 2005 I started DcooksonFitness and took on the role of Training Manager at Fitness Exchange. I am currently coaching clients at River Oaks Gym in Houston. I have worked with over 60 clients in the past 6 years with various ages, professions, conditions and fitness goals. I can proudly say each client made great progress (and still making progress) while working together under my guidance!

It is very gratifying guiding others down a fitness and wellness path. Helping others to achieve fitness goals is an amazing process to experience and it is something I truly enjoy. There are three basic elements to health and fitness, no matter if you are trying to loose weight or gain weight. You have to lift weights, move your body, and eat healthy. You have to maintain all three components on a regular consistent basis to achieve your health and fitness goals.
