I have been making progress, but not as fast as I would like. I am happy that I feel so good and I have lost quite a bit so far. I did an 11K (6.8 miles) race and completed it without walking (I surprised myself)in 1:14 (just under 11 minute/mile average)I am down 34 pounds and have 54 to go!

I have been riding about 14-18 miles per day 5 days per week since recovering from my accident. My weight has crept up a bit, but my clothes are getting looser in key areas and my pants are a bit tighter in the thighs. I am not too worried about the gain in weight as I had this happen when I initially started riding. The weight will come off. My legs are much firmer and more defined and I am seeing more of the underlying muscle on my upper body as I progress. I will need to get a bit more disciplined with my diet.

Well this is recovery day 1 since I had a minor surgery to evacuate a hematoma in my left thigh from my accident 5 weeks ago. The pain had improved significantly, but today I am pretty sore and am hanging out at home convalescing... and feeling a little lazy. But soon this should be all behind me and I should be able to exercise again. I am going to need a new bike according to the bike shop mechanic as my frame is bent as well as the front wheel. Too bad since I had just put new tires and tubes on it and gave it a tune-up. I guess I need to get excited about bike shopping.

I had a significant set back due to someone cutting me off in traffic while on my daily bike commute. I made contact with his fender after shearing off his passenger side rear view mirror with my thigh. This resulted in me flipping over his car onto the ground. No serious injury, just a lot of pain and swelling. This has cost me 3 weeks of exercise so far. I hope to feel up to resuming my daily rides next week. I have a Dr. follow up tomorrow, and will try short easy rides this weekend. Be careful out there, and wear a helmet (I was)if riding.
