I have my giant spoiled cat sitting on my lap as I try to type this...OK, I am in my early 40's and I just moved to Oregon with my husband (cat is purring, but reaching over him makes it awkward to type) ...anyway, I am frustrated with my weight gain and that all my clothes no longer fit me.
As much as I hate diet and working out, I either need to buy all new clothes or lose weight. I have decided to do a little of both. I think I need to put my fat kitty on a diet as well, I can barely reach over him to type on this key board! :)

yes, I think protein shakes are great. They are a fast and easy way to get protein and the taste is okay.
To me the vanilla flavor smells like birthday cake. So I try to think about cake as I drink it to get it down. LOL
At this point I almost forget what cake tastes like, so my mind trick is working.

How Often Do you weigh yourself?
When I am dieting and sticking to it, I weigh myself every day. It helps me to have the feedback and it is the positive reinforcement I need to help me keep motivated.

Frustrated with Induction Results
I agree with veeezee. You may be eating just a few too many carbs somewhere. Be sure to get enough protein all through the day... also, you may want to look at your daily calorie intake and possibly lower it slightly as well?
On the other hand,you may be doing everything right, sometimes it just takes patience.

5 pounds is a lot of weight to lose. Congrats! and keep up the good work!

I think there is nothing more motivating than a wedding to lose weight. You can totally do this! When is your wedding? How much time do you have?
I am going to Hawaii at the end of November... so I also have some motivation to lose weight.

Any Vegans or Vegetarians out there
I have been a vegetarian for 25 years now due to ethical reasons. I started eating a small amount of seafood a few years ago because I was not organized enough to eat the proper amount of protein. I also eat eggs and dairy. I wish I was disiplined enough to be a vegan and I applaud those who are.

Being a vegetarian isn't automatically healthy because you can eat an entire cake and still be a vegetarian. heeheee ..and i do love cake!

However, when I look at what other people eat, and what they feed their children (chicken nuggets!?), I feel like I eat healthy in comparison. I never eat fast food.

As for recipes their are many! Foodnetwork has a bunch. Also,Baked tofu cut in cubes in a stir fry is delicious!
