Time to update the bio:
I am now 60 years old, still 5'-2", still have 1 wonderful husband and 1 daughter, college junior, who is turning into an amazing young woman we like to spend time with. Was 124 lbs when I got married 34 years ago and my weight has been creeping up ever since. Love to cook (stumbled onto FS website while researching recipes and took it as a sign); really don't like to exercise, but I've joined gyms trying to find the right fit and may have finally found it!
Since joining FS, I lost 25+ pounds the first 9 months and was bouncing up and down a bit, but holding my own pretty well. Four months later, life turned upside down with dramatic changes in my mother's condition (Alzheimer's) and I fell back into my stress-eating habits. I gained back half of what I'd lost and now can't fit into my skinny pants that I was so proud to buy a year ago.
Wanted to be lean and fit by my 60th birthday and stop my stress-eating response to things in my life I can't change, but I'm still a work in progress. Still want to get the wedding ring back on my finger - too stubborn to get it resized and admit defeat.
This site is great - so much good information and support. I just need to make myself the priority and focus on my goals and hold myself accountable. We are all on similar journeys - we can do it!
