Hi Everyone,

I'm Shanon, a single mother of 2 from Grand Rapids, Michigan. I have 2 children ages 7 and 9. I am engaged to a great man. He travels all of the time for work and thought that using my time wisely. My weight loss journey is going to be long, but worth every step. I want to look as beautiful as he makes me feel, so off with the weight!! Every stinking little ounce of unhealthy extra body fat.

I do have my personal training certification, but have not actively used it. I work at a hospital unit that performs all types of gastric bypasses. The funny thing is that patients buy us junk food as a thank you's all of the time! I am vowing to stay away from these foods as well as bring my own food in so that the cafeteria will not have me as a victim! I also a full time student, but my classes are over the internet so I sit a lot more than I want to!

There is a woman who just retired from work who has done weight watchers and has lost her weight and is now in maintainance! I figure is she can do it, so can I!! I have hypothyroidism which doesn't make matters any easier! It slows my metabolisim down.

I will attack my weight loss goals in 10% increments to make my goals seem more attainable and realistic. (5.64# loss every 10% every 2 weeks is my goal)

Anyone has done LAP BAND? Or Know anything about it?
Don't do it! I work at a hospital on on my unit they do them. The dr's don't like it. Too many issues with the band being too tight and the person feels like death over and over again. You are making great progress, keep up the hard work honey! In the future there will be The Full Sense Device (still in trials) google it. That will be way better when it is available!

6 Essential Flat-Belly Foods
Quinoa can be found in most health food stores as well as Kefer. I add Quinoa to my salads (a handful). I have never had Kefer though. For new recipes you should check out Eating Clean Magazine done by Oxygen magazine. They are my favorite two magazines ever! (Umm I didn't mention that I was an overweight personal trainer) How embarrasing, but I don't do it too often, just for a few people. I tell you this because these are the best quality magazines out there. I have a job in the health care field and I am back in school for my masters.

Former LA Weight Loss employee goes back on plan!!!
Good Luck to you! I did LA Weight Loss about 9 years ago before I had my kids. It did work but I was always hungry. Do you have the paper that they used to give out on water? I always liked that one and wanted to share that with a friend.

Zumba!!
It's so much fun! I tried it for the first time this week at the YMCA with a friend and it was a mix of salsa and merengue. It had latin sounds and it was much easier to do than I expected! It was a great workout and I had so much fun that I did not feel stupid catching on! I'm addicted now!! I'm going to catch all of the classes from now on!! I encourage you to try it!
