I don't think it's very helpful to be showing a big McDonald's ad on a healthy diet website. I don't need to see a Big Mac staring me in the face while I'm trying to avoid eating unhealthy. I don't need McDonald's coupons and I doubt anyone else visiting this site is in need of ridiculous calories and heart killing salt! Oh and I just noticed the big KFC one too...right beside the Subway. Seriously, this is a diet site...WHY??

Girls help me out! (Guys, you are warned, this is a girly topic)
Sounds like more of a sweet addiction than a chocolate addiction. Those who have a chocolate addiction prefer the no sugar added DARK chocolate. Those who have a sweet addiction go for the milk chocolate (the sugar).

Watching the Numbers
Oh how I miss a potato with dinner. Now I have my "dinner" at lunch and have a lighter dinner. This way I at least get to enjoy a potato once in a while! A few carbs earlier in the day shouldn't hurt that much. And remember, fruit ARE carbs! Some higher than others.
Then again, I wouldn't even want to imagin how many carbs I ate between 2pm and 10pm before deciding to lose weight! Pizza, bread, cinnamon buns, cookies etc etc. Now when I get to have 2 pieces of whole grain 12 grain toast in the morning..it's HEAVEN..even at 20 carbs per slice.

How much carbs in a day?
I average 50-150 carbs a day and that's just from eating some toast/high fiber cereal and fruit/yogurt. I have a pretty high protein intake as I am working hard to convert my fat to muscle. My diet eliminates (almost completely) sugar intake. My diet has 4 cycles that are designed to confuse the metabolism so it doesn't "settle" and become complacent. Alternating days with natural starches and then having "fasting" days in between keeps the body confused. I also exercise at least an hour a day, most days more.
I started this diet in July have lost 26lbs so far. Still loosing on average 2-3lbs a week after being on the 3rd stage where I get to have the nautral starches every day.
Most "docs" now recommend not eating carbs after 2pm (including fruit), some even say after noon. I'll admit, one or two sneaks in after 2pm for me. Hasn't seemed to hamper my weight loss yet even with the muscle I'm gaining.
Your doctor should be able to help you find the right balance if that option is available to you.

Really proud of myself again today !!
Good job! I had someone come to me on Friday and offer me a piece of Drumstick Cheesecake...I mean come on! Drumstick (the ice cream kind) AND Cheesecake in one! I resisted. I thanked her and she said she didn't know what I was missing. I told her that I was missing inches from my waist and intended to keep it that way! It probably helps that I have had almost NO sugar for the last 2 months other than natural sugar from fruit. Cravings for it are almost completely gone. I still crave chocolate though but I have a solution for that...48 calorie brownies! Just one fills that craving!
