So my boyfriend decided he wanted to go out and get a digonio Pizza with the dozen toll house cookies that come together ,I cooked them and I didn't have one slice not one cookie! I am so excited about this because it wasn't even hard ,I wasn't even tempted by it .I think I am getting better with my self control. I am really trying to make this a lifestyle and not a diet .So far i feel good about it I feel like I can keep it up.
I have decided i am going to allow myself a spike day ,this will do 2 things ,give me an opportunity to indulge a little ,and it will kick my metabolism in , and keep me from hitting a plateau . For those of you that are interested in what spiking is and how to do it my buddie Kingkeld has written a blog that helped me!!Will keep you posted on my progress...

That's wonderful, Kimzie77! It's always an ego boost when we resist temptation. I for one have yet to figure out how to say no thanks to my boyfriend's mom's Sunday deserts! Every Sunday, I end up giving in, eating two to three servings and feeling guilty later. I call her a saboteur. She and her husband are fantastic cooks! But they're merciless. Thank goodness my boyfriend canceled dinner tonight! Keep your nose pinched and your eyes closed when you come in contact with tempting food! Or do a time-out...go outside and do something distracting for fifteen minutes. Seperate yourself for a period of time and see if that helps. That's what I plan to start doing. It actually worked the time I did it. After that, it was, "I'll take a piece home, thanks." Best wishes to you!

Oh, how I love reading stories like this one. Well done, Kimzie! Isn't it just amazing, that feeling of control? I love the fact that we can now just "not care", when others dig into all that nasty food. I love sitting at the coffee table at work, and everyone is eating white bread with cheese, and they keep offering, and I keep saying no thanks, and they keep being impressed with my refusal of those things. Fact is that I see them go bigger and bigger, and I get smaller and smaller. That alone is enough motivation.
You have the right mindset. You'll make it to the end. SmileWell done.
...and of course thank you for the shoutout! Yes, spiking has really helped me move on after the plateau. There a thread about it here in the forum (the "Ah, the dreaded plateau - are you finally here to see me"-thread), that I have kept reasonably updated. You can also find info on my spiking - how I do it and how I calculate it - in my bio page.

I went from morbidly obese to being the owner of TABDIG - a weight loss coaching service that helps people worldwide losing weight. It's been an amazing journey. From October 4th 2010 to April 3rd 2012 I lost half my body weight - 80 kilos/170 lbs. Since then, I have had two cosmetic surgeries to remove excess skin. I have now quadrupled my strength, gained several kilos in muscle mass, and today I focus on building muscle, optimizing my diet, living healthy and helping people to reach the very same goals. I am stronger, healthier, thinner, happier! If you feel that you need help losing weight, don't hesitate to send me an inbox message.

it's always the one closest to you, that is the biggest boycot. And they probably don't even know it.

so keep your friends close, but your enemies closer!!

Keep your friends close, your enemies closer, and the cookies at the other end of the table. Smile

@rockytu - good luck with spiking. If you get results with it, and also if you try something different, would you please let me know? I am trying to gather some information about all this - I find it very interesting how we can reach our goal this way. Smile

Good job! I had someone come to me on Friday and offer me a piece of Drumstick Cheesecake...I mean come on! Drumstick (the ice cream kind) AND Cheesecake in one! I resisted. I thanked her and she said she didn't know what I was missing. I told her that I was missing inches from my waist and intended to keep it that way! It probably helps that I have had almost NO sugar for the last 2 months other than natural sugar from fruit. Cravings for it are almost completely gone. I still crave chocolate though but I have a solution for that...48 calorie brownies! Just one fills that craving!
