Wow, old profile Bio down there. :) I'm now 43 and have *three* kids! They're currently ages 2.5, 11 and 13. Still having fun and hoping this will be the last time I have to work at weight loss. I'm fully intending to keep it this time and I'm making a promise by setting an aggressive goal for myself. If I hit that goal I'll be the lightest I've been in my adult life so there will be absolutely no going back!
Feel free to write. I'm happy to chat!
---------------------
I'm a 37 year old male who has always been relatively fit and enjoyed weightlifting. The problem is that most of my exercise came from running around with my kids (5 and 7) and sports. I've always had the problem of weight slowly creeping up on me, but it had never been a huge issue to me until a few years ago. I had always thought I could take it off whenever I wanted, but that time never came up. Now, with some major changes taking place in my life, I am finally at that point.
Wish me luck!

A month stucked at the same weight after three months of weight loss
While I generally agree that if you're eating too little you can lock yourself into a slow loss or simply get stuck at a weight, I'm not sure that's your issue. It seems like you're eating quite a bit of calories most days (I'm not sure if you're recording everything). When I get stuck, I try to limit my carbohydrates to around 100g for the day, and get nearly half my body weight in protein. I've never really been stuck for long but everyone is different. This is what works for me. Good luck!

17 day diet
Great response tntmom and that's exactly how I feel about the 17 Day. It's how we should be eating. Lots of healthy fruits and veggies, limited (if any) "junk" carbs and healthy portions of lean proteins. I can hardly call this a diet, which is why I often call it simply a way of eating or way of life.
Thanks!

17 day diet
I'm actually on this diet (not the Fat Smash my profile indicates) but it's not available as a choice here. It's been said here already but I just wanted to reiterate that it's important to find one that works for you. I've tried many different plans and I feel this is the first that has *really* worked for me. I'm loving it! I'm not hungry. I have lots of energy for both day-to-day things and exercise. I feel better and am losing weight in a way that makes me happy. Give it a try and if you need advice let me know! Good luck!

OMG...I WENT OVER AGAIN
Over by 93 calories? Come on... Relax! You're going to drive yourself crazy if you micromanage your diet so carefully. We all want to lose weight but remember this is a LIFESTYLE change. There will be days you won't have any idea what the calorie content of your meal is, and I'm skeptical that I ever record every single calorie anyway. I give myself a range to work in and am satisfied with that. Try to get sufficient protein and exercise and you'll see the weight come off. Relax, enjoy discovering your new WOL and WOE and keep smiling! Good luck!
