I'm 33, married without kids and have been overweight all of my life. I had never seriously dieted before now. Attempts to "eat better" were always half hearted at best. Medically, my weight is an issue; I am insulin resistant and have high blood pressure. A major contributing factor is that have Hashimoto's Thyroiditis, an autoimmune condition that is killing my thyroid. I was diagnosed in 2004 and lost 60 lbs in less than 6 months without any effort after being put on thyroid supplements. Unfortunately, the increased energy from the thyroid supplement doesn't last forever.

I started on this weight loss journey in November 2011 after "the talk" from my primary care doctor about weight loss surgery or diet pills as a medical recommendation based on my age and BMI. I have a close friend that has been successful after gastric bypass, but I feel I need to make a real attempt at losing weight on my own before considering surgery.

I've found that my android app errors out when I'm in a place that doesn't have a good internet signal. I sometimes have to shut my phone completely down and reboot once I've got a better signal and it works again.

I would suggest changing your fatsecret website password to something short and very simple and be sure to pay attention to capitalization. Then reinstall the app on your phone and try again.

Ticker does not show and Starting weight changed after diet changed
I'm having the same problem. I've fixed my sharing settings and others can see my ticker (I think), but I still see the grey bar.

I'm not sure, but my weight loss ticker at the bottom of my posts stopped showing. I've checked my signature settings and the box is checked.

Can anyone help me get my ticker back?
